If you hadn't guessed, we're super excited about our open day & won't stop talking about it until the day arrives! (Then we will talk about how amazing it was for weeks after!) 🚒🔥

Our crew will be putting on some live demonstrations for you to watch including:

🍟Chip pan demonstration - you will be able see what happens if you put water on a chip pan fire!

🪜Ladder & pump drill - a very special guest will be rescued from our tower through smoke!

🚗 RTC demo - watch the crew cut open a car in real time & rescue a casualty!

🧯Our Tactical Rescue Unit will be around all day to show you how they do specialised rescues & what their job entails!

🚒 Sit in our fire trucks & see what it's really like to be a firefighter!

These are just some of the many exciting things we have going on throughout the day.

With the warmer weather on its way ☀️, people may start to move outside for a barbecue 🍔🌭.

By following the Fire Kills campaign’s top tips, you can ensure your barbecue is a safe, enjoyable event.

• 🔥 Never leave a lit barbecue unattended.

• 📄 Follow the safety instructions provided with disposable barbecues.

• 🚫 Never use a barbecue indoors.

• 🏡 Make sure your barbecue is well away from sheds, fences, trees, shrubs or garden waste.

• 👶🐾 Keep children, pets and garden games away from the cooking area.

• ❄️ After cooking, make sure the barbecue is cool before moving it.

• ⚖️ Use enough charcoal to cover the base of the barbecue, but not more.

• 🗑️ Allow ashes to fully cool before disposing of them. Do not put hot ashes into dustbins or wheelie bins as they can melt the plastic and start a fire.

• 😊 Enjoy yourself but stay in control if you’re in charge of the barbecue. • 🚿 Always keep a bucket of water, or a garden hose nearby for emergencies.

Got a fave dish? Burgers? Kebabs? Bananas?! If you’re firing one up, keep it away from sheds, fences and trees!

Whenever you are around water:
