We had a lovely session for Children in Need. The children made Pudsey masks, decorated Pudsey cakes and had fun playing with a giant cornflake Pudsey on the tuff tray. Thank you for you kind donations (please see our thank you certificate below, also the QR code for anyone that would like to donate), this money helps children and young people who are affected by challenges involving the cost of living, mental health, family-related issues, disability, marginalisation or anything else that prevents them from thriving. Armistice Day. The children have made their own beautiful poppies using red paint and cupcake cases. They have used the new red playdough, decorated with poppies like Flanders fields. CBeebies have “A beautiful animation following a young rabbit through the poppy fields. Watch together to commemorate Remembrance Day with a message of peace and Hope.”

Spaces avaliable at Spittal Playgroup for the Autumn term. We are now able to offer funded Flying Start places for 2 year olds from September. We offer Funded Early Education for 3 year Olds and provide a wrap around service to Spittal School. Spittal Playgroup is open on Monday Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9.10am -12.30pm (Wrap around 12.30 - 1pm). The children at Spittal Playgroup have been embracing Spring and the glorious weather. They have celebrated Earth Day alongside National Outdoor Week with a fun science activity - Earth made from bicarbonate of soda and adding vinegar to make it bubble and fizz. They talked about what was happening and the different animals from around the world. They also had a messy play beach tray, they collected and put the rubbish in their own recycling bin, making the sea safe for their friend Twiggle the Turtle and his friends. They have been looking at feelings through the PATHS social and emotional based curriculum. PATHSEdUK which they love expanding through their daily activities. The children have done a fantastic job growing their own mini herb garden and chitting and planting potatoes. Our role play area is currently a pizzeria and we are looking forward to making their own pizzas for snack. NEW! Wrap around care at Spittal Playgroup starting after Easter. We now offer an additional service to our normal session (9.10am -12.30pm). We can provide wrap around care 12.30 - 1pm with drop off to Spittal School for their afternoon session. We will supervise their packed lunch, change children into school uniform and walk to school. Wow what a difference! Everyone did a fantastic job and the children had great bubbly fun as well - including a park picnic! A huge thank you to Johnny, Sam, Rowlie and Lowri, you were brilliant and we really appreciated your help on such a warm day. Fran, Jade and Karen you were all amazing!
