Eighty-two years ago today during World War Two, thousands of Allied servicemen and women crossed the Channel in the largest seaborne invasion in history. Some would never return home.

Here at Hatfield Park, the House played its own quiet part in the war effort. From 1939, Hatfield House was requisitioned as a military hospital, its rooms repurposed to care for the wounded when traditional hospitals reached capacity.

A reminder that Hatfield Park, shaped by centuries of history, also carries the memory of those who sacrificed so much.

Salisbury Square opens in just over one week. A new public space for Old Hatfield, and a milestone in the Estate's long-term commitment to the town.

This project has been years in the making, shaped by the same values that guide how we manage the wider Estate: investing carefully, thinking generationally, and creating something that genuinely serves the community.

From 11am-4pm on June 13th, you're cordially invited to enjoy food trucks, live music, and free family-friendly fun at the new development and community green space. 🌳

Visitors can also collect a free day entry ticket to Hatfield Park and Gardens for the day from our stand in Salisbury Square.

Whether you're drawn to the remarkable history held within Hatfield House - its crafted rooms, collections and portraits that span centuries - or the tranquil gardens first laid out in the early 17th century, or simply the quiet of the woodland walks, there is something here for every pace and mood.

Hatfield Park and Gardens welcome visitors Wednesday to Sunday from 10:30am-5pm. Hatfield House opens Thursday to Sunday from 11am-5pm. Free parking on site.
