🌟 Community Spotlight: Footsteps 123 nursery 🌟
This week we’re delighted to introduce Footsteps 123 nursery, a much-loved permanent part of our community center. Their dedicated team provides a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow every day. We’re proud to have them as part of our center community and we are excited to share a little more about the fantastic work they do and what life at the nursery looks like. ✨
Below is a message written by the nursery team about who they are and what a typical day at nursery looks like. ✨
Footsteps 123 nursery is a home from home nursery environment, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, nurturing, and welcoming environment where every child is valued as an individual. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, happy, and supported, and our dedicated staff work closely with families to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
We provide care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years, with spaces for up to 60 children per day. Our nursery is term-time only, with selected opening during half terms, Easter holidays, and summer holidays to support working families.
Our daily routine is carefully planned to provide children with a balance of structured learning, creativity, physical development, outdoor exploration, and free play opportunities.
A typical nursery day includes:
• 8:30am – Children arrive and settle into free play
• 9:00am – Circle time
• 9:15am – Adult-led learning activities
• 10:15am – Snack time
• 10:45am – Outdoor play and exploration
• 12:00pm – Lunch time
• 12:45pm – Afternoon adult-led activities
• 1:45pm – Garden play
• 2:30pm – End of nursery session
We also offer after-school and nursery clubs from 2:30pm–4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and until 4:00pm on Fridays.

Our nursery places a strong focus on safeguarding and children’s wellbeing. All staff are fully trained in safeguarding procedures and work hard to ensure children feel safe, secure, and supported within our setting. We promote a caring and inclusive environment where every child is respected and encouraged to grow in confidence and independence.
We are committed to supporting all children’s individual needs, including children with additional needs and disabilities, and we work closely with parents, carers, and outside professionals to ensure every child can reach their full potential.
We also encourage healthy lifestyles through nutritious snacks, physical activities, outdoor play, and opportunities for children to develop good hygiene and self-care routines.
As children prepare for their transition to school, we help build confidence, independence, communication, and social skills to support school readiness and create a positive foundation for future learning.
