Today's the day: Hassocks Annual Parish Meeting 2026 - 21 May at Adastra Hall.

We hope you can join us for tonight's event. We'll be joined some of the fantastic sports clubs and community groups which use our facilities, and there will be a report followed by Q&A on what the Council has been up to over the last year. There will also be light refreshments. If you're looking to get more involved in the social and civic life of our brilliant village, this is a great starting point. We hope to see you there.

There are two site allocations for land off Lodge Lane included in the plan.

Hassocks Annual Parish Meeting 2026: 1 week to go!

There’s just one week to go until this year’s Annual Parish Meeting. Join us to hear what’s been happening in the village, meet local sports clubs and community groups, and take part in a report and Q&A on the Council’s work over the past year.

It’s a great chance to get involved in local civic life, ask questions, and connect with others who care about our community. Light refreshments will be available, and everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you there - Thursday 21 May, 6.30pm at Adastra Hall.

Have you seen the Railway 200 exhibition at Hassocks Station? It's well worth checking out the three posters on the northbound platform with pictures of Hassocks Station through the ages. You could take a few minutes waiting for your next train to learn more about how the railway and station have been so important to the history and development of our village.

The posters were created by the Rail Group - part of the Hassocks Community Organisation

You can see the posters online in a more accessible format here: https://www.hassockscommunity.org.uk/rail-group

1 week to go till the 'Barclays Big Tennis Weekends' Open Day at the Adastra Park Tennis Courts (Sunday 10 May, 10.00-13.00). Pop down to have a look around, meet other players and find out how easy it is to book a court as we head into summer. All ages and abilities welcome – whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or getting back into the game.

I'm sure a lot of people will have seen the new crossing arrangements outside the Sussex Grocer, recently completed by West Sussex County Council. Can we ask that residents don't park across the newly installed double yellow lines, as per this driver in the image here. Elderly people with walkers, pushchair and wheelchair users are not able to access the dropped kerb. Please park with consideration to others. Thank you.
