My uncle Brendan volunteers his time delivering Meals on Wheels to people who are unable to get out and about. He’s a true gent 🫶

With the colder months approaching, we thought it would be lovely to send a little more than a meal to their doorsteps. ❤️

Uncle Brendan has kindly agreed to take our Book Hogg Travelling Library Box with him on on his rounds, giving people the chance to borrow, enjoy and exchange books from the comfort of their own homes absolutely free.

It’s a small idea, but one that means a great deal to me. Everyone deserves the joy of a good book, regardless of their circumstances.

And who knows? This might just be the beginning of something really special. I would love to find some funding to buy boxes with wheels, and lots more books to push this idea forward and inspire more people to fall in love with reading! The possibilities to access books locally could easily change for the better!

Spooky books at the ready! 🎃 👻

There’s also a German dictionary for anyone studying the language, and plenty of other new reads added.

I took out some that had been on the shelves a while and added lots of new titles this morning 📕

My dad’s copy of Antiques Gazette magazine is still in there - I know there is someone who usually picks them up, it was a little hidden but I’ve put it back at the top if you’ve not spotted it!

We’ve had lovely news from Penguin Books, a festive bundle is on its way to us! From Christmas adventures for little readers to cosy reads for grown-ups, there’s plenty to look forward to ❤️

We’ll be hiding these books in our little library in the run-up to Christmas, so keep your eyes peeled when you pop by, you might discover a festive treat! 👀🎁

Got a book you’re enjoying? Bring it along. 📖

Sip & Read is a chance to slow things down, grab a drink and spend a few cosy hours reading at the Olive.
You’ll be surrounded by other book lovers, but everyone will have their own space to settle in and enjoy their own book. Come by yourself or bring a friend, you can be as social (or as tucked away in your book!) as you like.

There’s no set book, no group discussion and nothing to prepare. Just bring whatever you’re currently reading and get comfy.

A few more books have found their way into Book Hogg 📚🐷

I’ve just topped up with a wonderful donation we received from Susan 🩷

The Summer House by Santa Montefiore, along with a couple of other reads. If you’re passing, have a browse, take one that catches your eye and leave a book for someone else to enjoy if you can.

What are you reading at the moment? I’ve just started Verity by Colleen Hoover before the film comes out! I read about 60 pages last night and only planned on reading a couple 🤣
