We welcomed Danni and Danni(!) from Carefound Home Care - Harrogate to Community House today to present them with their well-earned certificate of adventure achievement!

Double Danni were part of a team from Carefound who took on the 15 mile route of the Nidderdale Charity Walk & Run Sunday 17th May 2026 raising a fantastic £643.75 towards our work.

We had to get our fingers AND toes out to add up the total amount raised by all our teams in this year's Nidderdale Walk. Thanks to the efforts of Carefound, John's People, the McPartlan family & friends plus our very own Angela, we're delighted to announce that the final total is £1,562.50.

Alongside that, the Rotary Club of Harrogate have pledged an additional donation of £225 from a percentage of the entry fees for our 37 walkers/runners! We can't wait to join them in July for the cheque presentation!

These invaluable funds will go towards our HELP services which provide practical and emotional support to local residents to enable them to live safely, independently and comfortably at home❤️

A huge thank you to the amazing team from North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for visiting our Friendship & Exercise Club this week to deliver such an informative and engaging talk for our members.

The session covered important fire safety advice, practical tips for staying safe at home, and simple steps that can help people feel more confident and independent in their daily lives. Our members really enjoyed the visit and appreciated how friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable the team were throughout.

We would strongly encourage anyone who may benefit to look into booking a free Home Fire Safety Visit. These visits can provide personalised advice, smoke alarm checks, and support to help people stay safe in their own homes, particularly older adults, people living alone, or those with additional health or mobility needs.

Partnerships like this make such a difference within community groups not only sharing valuable information, but also helping reduce isolation, encourage conversation, and support people to stay safe and well at home.

We’re genuinely blown away by the support for this group 💛

After putting a call out for donations of tea, coffee and biscuits… the local community showed up.

Not just individuals, but local businesses too stepping in to support our Friendship & Exercise Club.

A huge thank you to Tesco Harrogate Community Page and Home Instead for your generosity, alongside everyone else who made the trip to donated.

Those cups of tea and shared biscuits aren’t just refreshments they’re what help create a welcoming space where people can connect and feel less isolated.

What a great afternoon of beer and singing we had yesterday with All Together Now community choir at Rooster's Brewing Co. 🍻🎶

The choir entertained the punters with tunes from across the decades and our raffle raised an incredible £430 towards our services!

Thank you to everyone who came along to support, bought raffle tickets or donated a prize! And thank you to Chris and ATN for their continued support for HELP!
