Our current programme (The Roads Taken) closes at the end of June and makes way for our next programme Churchyard Secrets Shared. There is a range of exciting events running from the first talk on 3rd July all the way through to the end of November. Leaflets will be available to collect from the Centre this week, and from public places such as libraries in the coming days. Please contact the Centre if you would like to book a place at any of the events.

Our Tea Room is open Saturdays and Sundays during the summer from 11-4pm, except on the last weekend of each month when we close and make way for the church hall to hold their lunches for charity. Check our Events tab on our website for details.

It’s the last weekend in the month and the Washburn Heritage Centre Tea Room is CLOSED. Refreshments can be found across the road at the Parochial Church Hall. We are open again next weekend (6 and 7 June).

The Washburn Heritage Centre volunteers enjoyed taking part in the British Association for Local History’s conference today. Excellent speakers included Jude Rhodes, Esther Rutter, David Cant and the Centre’s Sally Robinson. We learned a lot, met great people and had an interesting day. We talked about the fascinating Fewston Assemblage Churchyard Secrets Revealed and the current project Churchyard Secrets Shared which was made possible with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund
