Thank you to Billy, who shared some feedback about his experience on our Maternity Ward. It was great to visit the unit, pass on his kind words, and capture a photo with some of the wonderful team!💜

"Please pass on my thanks and praise to the whole team of heroes at Harrogate District Hospital.

My fiancée Emma was naturally worried about giving birth, but from our appointments at Mowbray Square through to the birth of our daughter Rosie, we were supported and cared for.

Lizzie made us both feel very comfortable, and we genuinely looked forward to our appointments throughout the journey. When the time came, the team was brilliant at keeping Emma calm and giving her encouragement. We were supported by everyone, including the theatre team, who were incredible.

We always hear when something isn't right or people aren't happy with things, but we were truly thankful to you all. We were looked after from start to finish, and it's something we'll never ever forget.

You helped us bring our first daughter into the world and cared for Emma during her recovery.

Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all.”

Work has begun on the redevelopment of the main entrance at Harrogate District Hospital.

This exciting project will create a modern, welcoming and more accessible entrance that better meets the needs of patients, visitors and staff, helping to improve the experience of everyone who visits our hospital.

Expected to open in Spring 2027, the redeveloped space will include new retail and refreshment facilities, including a Costa Coffee store and M&S Food, providing greater choice and convenience.

The hospital remains open as usual throughout the building works. Visitors will continue to be able to access the hospital via the main entrance, with clear signage in place to help people find key services, including Outpatients, Pharmacy and the GP Out of Hours service. Food and drink will continue to be available from Herriots Restaurant.

We understand that construction work can cause some temporary disruption and would like to thank our patients, visitors and local community for their patience and support while these improvements are carried out.

We'll be sharing regular updates as the project progresses and look forward to welcoming everyone to the new entrance when it opens in 2027.

Thank you for your continued support of Harrogate District Hospital.

Thanks to an incredible team of volunteers from British Gas, the outdoor play area on Woodlands Ward has been transformed into a brighter, more engaging space for children and young people at Harrogate District Hospital.

Many of the volunteers had experienced first-hand the outstanding care provided on Woodlands Ward and were inspired to give back by creating a space that brings comfort and joy to children and young people.

Some of the improvements included a new performance stage, teepee, seating areas and storage facilities.

Support from organisations like British Gas helps Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity enhance the experience of patients and families across the Trust. If you would like to find out how your organisation can get involved, email [email protected].
