Tonight we were lucky enough to be joined by Cdre Waterhouse. We showed him some of what the cadets do, asked him to judge our Dragons Den-style competition, present some certificates and badges, and even introduced him to the Wing Aviation Centre simulators. AIR CADETS ARE NOW RECRUITING…
Harrogate and Knaresborough Air Cadet Squadrons are now recruiting new Air Cadets. So if you are in Year 8 or above and into all things aviation, action & adventure, this could be for you.

You’ll have the opportunity to try broad range of challenging and exciting activities including flying, shooting, annual camps, music, leadership, first aid, sports, flight simulation, bowling, star gazing and much more.
You’ll develop personal responsibility and self-discipline as well as have a lot of fun!

Cadets spent the day at Inmarsat learning about the satellite industry, piloting a maritime simulator, completing STEM challenges and mixing with 150 sea and air cadets. We had a fabulous day, even if it did start at 0400! Thanks and a massive shout out to the guys who gave up their weekend to support this Inmarsat

Tonight cadets were lucky enough to visit the current Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate, Councillor Stuart Martin and Mrs April Martin, at the Council Chambers. After a very informative history lesson they got to try on the mayoral regalia! Some of them look a bit too comfortable in it we think. Watch out for the next generation of councillors.

I am immensely proud of my cadets today. They supported a Battle of Britain parade to remember the airmen buried at Stonefall Cemetery, they showed amazing determination and teamwork while competing at the Wing Competitions day and to top it all they brought home trophies for Best Drill Team and Best Drill NCO. I can't praise them all enough, they all worked so hard for it! Here's just a few of the team with the trophies. I'll try and post the video later too.
