BREAKING: Council secures court order following serious anti-social behaviour.

We’ve been clear we will be taking tougher enforcement, creating safer streets and resolute that Harlow will not be a soft touch.

Harlow Council has secured a three-month Closure Order on a council property in Halling Hill following reports of threatening behaviour, loud arguments and music, and people wearing balaclavas coming and going from the address.

The court order restricts who can enter or remain at the property, helping to protect a vulnerable tenant and neighbouring residents.

We said we would ruthlessly target enforcement action against those who make life a misery for residents and that’s what we’ve done. By protecting our communities, we’re helping to Build Harlow’s Future.

Everyone in Harlow deserves access to healthy food, whatever their income or postcode.

With £220,000 secured for Harlow through DEFRA’s Good Food Neighbourhood Programme, we’re strengthening local partnerships and working with community organisations to get that support to the people who need it.

We’re Building Harlow’s Future by making everyday life better for the people who call it home.

You should be able to ask the questions that matter to you, directly to the person leading your town.

Launching this month, Meet the Leader Live will give you the chance to speak to Council Leader Dan Swords, in person across Harlow and online, about the issues affecting your life and the future of our town.

Whether you have a tough question, an idea worth hearing or something you want to see change, this is your chance to put it to him.

We’re Building Harlow’s Future, and you deserve a say in how we get there.

You should be able to ask questions to - and hear directly from - the person leading your council.

About what’s happening.
About the decisions being made.
About what comes next.
And about the things that matter to you.

Not behind closed doors.
Not just in the Civic Centre.
Not just in council meetings.

So we’re taking it out into Harlow.

Today, we’re launching our new MEET THE LEADER programme.

Council Leader Dan Swords will be getting out across Harlow to meet residents where they are.

🏘️ Neighbourhood, business, community and school visits
🍻 Pub tours
🎤 Town halls
📱 Facebook Lives
🎙️ Podcasts
💬 Q&As and community forums

Some will be big. Some will be small. Sometimes it’ll simply be Dan turning up somewhere in Harlow, sitting down and having a conversation.

You’ll hear directly from Dan about what’s happening across Harlow, what we’re doing and where we’re going.

And you’ll get to have your say too.

Ask the questions.
Raise the issues.
Challenge us.
Bring your ideas.
Hear the answers directly from the person leading Harlow.

Because Building Harlow’s Future shouldn’t just mean telling residents what’s happening.
It means having a proper conversation about where our town is going - and bringing you into it.

You deserve a seat at the table.

And sometimes, rather than asking you to come to the table, we’ll bring the table to you.

This is your town. You should know what’s happening, why it’s happening and have the chance to help shape what comes next.

MEET THE LEADER starts soon.

See you out there.

Harlow has waited too long for a town centre that does justice to the people who call it home, and we’re determined to deliver it.

With the glass panes now going in at Harlow Bus Station, the transformation of the Bus Station and Terminus Street is becoming more visible.

Every pane lifted into place is another commitment being delivered, another step towards Building Harlow’s Future.

This autumn, we’re helping more people in Harlow make the most of their free weekly food recycling service.

If you have a wheeled bin for general rubbish, you’ll receive food caddy liners, a handy recycling guide and a new sticker for your bin.

Recycling your food each week means less food waste in your general rubbish bin, helping keep it fresher for longer.
