We’re happy to share that Honor and I have completed the DementiaUK 31 Miles in May challenge! Throughout the month, we hit the pavements and country roads, all in aid of a fantastic cause - raising funds and awareness for DementiaUK.
While I found the miles manageable, it was an achievement for Honor, who managed it despite having a partial knee replacement only a few weeks before we started!

Thanks to the generous support of friends and family, we’ve raised money for this brilliant charity (Daybreakers are supporting this year), which helps families affected by dementia.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, enabling us to reach our target! ❤. Although, our page is still open! 😉

Join us this Friday (12th June) at 2pm for a talk on The Herbert Protocol, delivered by West Mercia Police.

The Herbert Protocol is a nationally recognised initiative in the United Kingdom designed to support people living with dementia or other cognitive impairments who are at risk of going missing. Named after George Herbert, a war veteran who lived with dementia, the protocol provides a practical framework for families, carers, and professionals to ensure the swift and safe return of vulnerable individuals should they wander or become lost.

Come and join us to find out more about how to Safeguard Vulnerable Individuals

33 Marathons in 33 Days for Dementia!
Huge congratulations to the incredible FTD brothers, Jordan and Cian, for smashing out 33 marathons in 33 days! Starting with the London Marathon and then onto Ireland, for another 32, finishing in Dublin! You two are nothing short of amazing. Your grit, heart, and endless dedication have inspired us all. It’s been a joy to watch you take on this epic challenge and raise awareness.

The Daybreakers got behind you in their own creative way, tackling 33 things or finding the number 33 each day (or nearly every day) to show their support (don’t worry, we left the marathon running to the experts!).😆 We’ve loved every minute of cheering you both on and are continuing to raise money for you, where we can.

Sending all our love and admiration - your journey has brought the community together and shown what real determination looks like. Here’s to you, Jordan and Cian - thank you for inspiring us, and massive congratulations again! 🎉💕

We had a fantastic time with TopGlass at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre, and the experience was made truly memorable thanks to Kate and Bailey. Their skill and dedication shone through as they demonstrated the art of making glass forget-me-nots in support of Dementia Action Week and the Alzheimer’s Society’s Forget Me Not campaign. It was a privilege to watch them work, and their patience was appreciated as they took us through the process several times - our club members were so captivated, they wanted to see it again and again. 🙃

The event was not only fun and educational but also helped us contribute meaningfully to a wonderful cause. Thank you, Kate and Bailey, for your generosity and expertise. We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to learn from you!💕

Dementia Action Week has absolutely flown by, thanks to all the excitement and activity! We kicked things off with the Dementia Bus, followed by some lovely Forget Me Not activities with our Club members. The week culminated in a jam-packed weekend: Saturday saw us hosting our Information Day at the Jinney Ring, and on Sunday we joined the brilliant Alvechurch Picnic in the Park.

It was a fantastic weekend all round. Picnic in the Park was buzzing, with plenty of people turning out to support good causes or to have fun. Our tombola stall proved popular, raising a generous sum for the FTD brothers - https://theftdbrothers.com and Dementia UK - https://www.dementiauk.org

Congratulations to one of the lucky winners who walked away with not one, but two bottles! Thank you to everyone who joined us, helped out, and made Dementia Action Week one to remember.

The Dementia bus provided a unique opportunity for the Daybreakers Team to participate in the virtual Dementia Tour, hosted by The Gables Care Home in Hagley, Worcestershire, DY9 0WA. We are grateful for their hospitality and support (Paul), which allowed us to take part at the beginning of Dementia Action Week.

This immersive 15-minute experience offers a valuable perspective, helping participants better understand the challenges faced by those living with dementia. It was an enlightening and thought-provoking session that will undoubtedly inform our approach from now on.

Thank you, Paul, for arranging it so we could take over quite a few slots due to the whole team taking part.
