Excelsior Events returns to the stunning Rutherglen Town Hall with one of two new events.

Excelsior Comic Con is a new comic focused event dedicated in featuring comic guests, comic dealers with some of Scotlands very best artists and comic writers.

This event will also be introducing our new Excelsior Comic Awards where we will be presenting our new awards to best comics, best artists and best zines.

At the Rutherglen Library next door they will be hosting our guests talks about their career and creativity.

If you’re a long-term fan of comics and comic art then let’s all come together to celebrate the medium.

As well as Artists and Comic Dealers there will be Independent Comic Creators, Pokemon and TCG Traders, Retro Gaming and Character Meet & Greets including an amazing 10ft Autobot Bumblebee.

After a SELL-OUT run of shows in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and two sell out shows at the Pavilion Theatre Glasgow ‘Up a Close’ is back for its 2026 Autumn Tour and is very excited to be returning to Rutherglen Town Hall on Friday Evening 18th September and Saturday 19th September for a Matinee and Evening performance.

Up A Close’ is the story of Joanna, looking back on her life in her Partick tenement flat, when her husband doesn't come home one night, she reminisces on her marriage, her children, the wonderful times she had growing up in the mid-70s with her Mum, Dad, her Auntie Sandra, her best friend Anne Marie, the nuns and dancing up the toon to the Bay City Rollers. The audience will laugh and cry and identify themselves in this brilliantly written and acted play of tough love and hope and laughter, full of nostalgia, poignancy and fun and pure Glasgow banter.
