🛻 Lane restrictions have been put in place today on Duncan Edwards Way, Dudley, as part of the ongoing construction of phase two of the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension.
🛣 In addition to the new 30mph speed limit that came into effect on 10 August, a lane restriction is now installed on the northbound side of the highway. It will remain in place until Christmas.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF ILLEY LANE HALESOWEN



NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Illey Lane Halesowen will be closed to vehicular traffic.



The restriction will be from Bromsgrove Road to Kitwell Lane.

The extent of the restriction will be on Tuesday 1st September 2026.

All vehicular traffic will be diverted via: Kitwell Lane, Wood Lane, Woodgate Lane, Carters Lane, Lye Close Lane, Lapal Lane South, Manor Way, Grange Hill, Bromsgrove Road and vice versa.

The restriction is required to safely facilitate the clearing of overgrown hedges.



Access will be maintained for residents and emergency services where safe to do so.

I’ve seen the Ofsted report into Dudley’s Children’s Services. It makes for very difficult reading.

The word INADEQUATE is not just a judgement on a council service.

Behind it are children. Children who have waited too long, families who have not had the support they needed, and staff who have been trying to do an incredibly difficult job in a service under enormous pressure.

Two things are striking:

First, this is serious and it has to be fixed:

If a child needs help, protection or support, they should not have to wait many years for the system to get its act together.

Second, we must be honest about how we got here:

Ofsted identifies FIVE years of unstable leadership, staffing reductions and reduced capacity as barriers to progress. The have controlled Dudley Council for SEVEN years.

So, this didn’t just happen.

But I am not going to blame the social workers and frontline staff who are now working incredibly hard to put things right.

Many of them are carrying huge caseloads and working under enormous pressure. I want every one of them to know that they have my personal backing, and that of all Reform UK Councillors in Dudley.

There is a new team trying to rebuild this service. They have started the work, and there is clearly a lot still to do.

We will challenge the administration when it gets things wrong and demand that it delivers. But we will also recognise progress when it happens and support those who are genuinely trying to make things better.

Children must come first.

Please share this. The people of deserve to know what is happening to our Children’s Services and, more importantly, what is being done to put it right.

🚨 FYI regarding Leasowes Park, response from Dudley council 🚨

I'm sure you're already aware that a group of travellers is currently on Leasowes Park. The Traveller Liaison Team spoke with the group this afternoon; they have three caravans on site.

We are currently working with the group to secure a voluntary move. I will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Grange Hill, Halesowen will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The restriction will be from Sunday 06th September 2026 to Sunday 20th September 2026.

The extent of the restriction will be full length.

All vehicular traffic will be diverted via: Northbound – Grange Hill – Manor Way – Manor Lane – Carters Lane – Woodgate Lane – Wood Lane – Kitwell Lane – Illey Lane.

Access will be maintained for residents and emergency services where is safe to do so.

The restriction is required to safely facilitate carriageway reconstruction works.
