The Town Council is the tier of local government closest to the people and consists of individual councillors who contribute to the work of the whole Town Council by:

- Putting forward ideas and engaging in constructive debate

- Representing their constituents and responding to the needs of the community

- Acting in an ethical way and being open about interests

- Voting to enable the Town C

ouncil to make decisions

- Ensuring the delivery of cost-effective quality services for residents

Replying and responding to messages and comments:

1) Our page is generally monitored during office hours (9am-4pm, Monday to Friday), except on public holidays.
2) If your query is urgent or involves personal details, please contact us direct by calling 01323 841702 during office hours.
3) We will endeavour to answer simple queries as quickly as possible via Facebook. However, if the matter of concern is intricate or requires a detailed response, you may be directed to a relevant officer or department to discuss the matter further.
4) Our aim is to respond to questions on our Facebook posts as soon as we can, but this is not always possible and sometimes we can miss such comments.
5) Please feel free to talk to your local councillor about local matters too. Contact details for ward councillors can be found on our website: www.hailsham-tc.gov.uk

Moderation and behaviour:

1) We will not tolerate offensive or abusive language or images on our page/posts and will remove any such comments or images.
2) Please do not post any comments on our posts that are unlawful, libellous, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually explicit or discriminatory in any way. We will remove any statement/comment that we consider could be fall into any of the above categories, and may report them to the Facebook platform administrators.
3) Do not 'troll', i.e. create conflict on our page by posting comments or statements that are particularly controversial or inflammatory, extraneous or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a response from other Facebook users or disrupting normal, on-topic discussion. Any such comments may be removed.
4) Do not bully, harass or intimidate any individual or organisation using our page.
5) Do not post content copied from elsewhere without consent from the original author, i.e. content for which you do not own the copyright.

Do you enjoy the outside life? The Town Council has launched another campaign to encourage residents to visit ๐—›๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—น๐˜€๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ and enjoy the beauty of the summer season.

The Councilโ€“maintained Country Park, situated off Gleneagles Drive, covers ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜…๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜† ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ and incorporates woodland, a recreational grass area, two ponds and a lake. We hope residents and visitors enjoy this precious open space area!

The Deputy Town Mayor, Cllr Colin Mitchell, is looking forward to opening Hailsham Photographic Society's Annual Exhibition at the Charles Hunt Centre on Monday (15th Jun)!

The exhibition, which will showcase a wide range of photographic works from members of the Society, runs from then until Saturday 20th June - open daily from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free and the exhibition is open to everyone to attend.
