Jemini Response Residential care for adults with Autism and learning disabilities - developing lives

CARE WITH A HEART

"At Jemini we do things differently, we call it the 'Jemini Way' - it's all about putting the needs of the resident first and supporting them in their day to day living." Jemini Response is a small local community-based service for residents with Autism and learning disabilities. Our residential homes are just that, 'HOME' for our residents and we support and care for them both

emotionally and physically. We have four modern homes based in Hailsham and Eastbourne, boasting all the facilities needed, whilst keeping that homely, caring feel. All of our homes are adapted to create Autism friendly environments and our residents are encourage choose their own colours and to decorate as they like.

The other month, Stephen and Charley went to see Hoppers at Cineworld Cinemas, and bought a new Hoppers themed cup for the occasion.

Many of our residents enjoy trips to the cinema and you can read more on their outings and view photos from their experiences in our ‘Out & About… at the Cinema’ blog.

Matthew has been enjoying some of the recent sunny weather... in the park.

Being out in the open is so beneficial to adults with autism and learning disabilities. Our residents can explore safe open spaces and experience the feel of the wind, the sounds of the birds, the various smells – flowers, grass, even fresh air can smell differently after the rain – and most of all, to have fun!

Find out what adventures our residents get up to in our monthly round-up.

Sammy spent a relaxing afternoon at Mencap in Newhaven in the newly refurbished multi-sensory room. It’s specially designed and equipped to create a calm and peaceful environment, with a variety of lighting effects and soothing sounds.

Riverside Hall offers our residents an ideal alternative to our own sensory rooms for both relaxation and sensory exploration… and a little bus adventure along the way! 😊

There’s always time for… Craft

We’re here to make sure our residents get the most out of each and every day, whatever they choose to do… and Matthew had a lot of fun today with paint and printing.

Arts and crafts continue to be an important part of life here at Jemini, supporting motor skills and offering our residents a variety of sensory experiences… and most of all fun!

Check out our monthly roundup to see what our residents have been up to 😊
