Thank you to everyone who attended our coffee morning today it was lovely to see everyone come together to support a great charity.

We also shared the love by taking some sweet treats around our local community

πŸ’• Wednesdays Nippers & Slippers playgroup brings so much joy into our home.

Interactions between young children and the older generation create powerful intergenerational bonds. These visits reduce loneliness and spark joy for older adults, while helping children build empathy, communication skills, and positive views on aging.

πŸ•· Making spider biscuits πŸ•·

This activities didn't really go to plan because 90% of the time our lovely residents were eating the sweet ingredients before anything else.

Completing the activity was never important but what mattered was we all laughed together as a group of friends and shared memories of making treats with grandchildren.

Not many photos were taken due to us having to much fun but we had about nine ladies & gentlemen join in all with different stages of dementia.

Did the activity go as planned, no but would we do this activities again - 100%

Exercise in care homes is vital for maintaining residents' physical strength, mobility, and balance, which directly reduces fall risks and hospital visits. It also boosts mental health, eases anxiety and depression, and fosters social connections through group classes like chair yoga, walking clubs, and movement-to-music sessions.

πŸ˜„ Puff pasty cinnamon apple rings πŸ˜„

Engages all the senses: Touch, sight, smell, sound and taste - all the senses are engaged when it comes to baking. There are multiple studies out there to suggest that sensory stimulation is beneficial for those with dementia and provides a platform to reminisce and socialise. They may also be reminded of a time when they baked with their family in the past, which helps improve mood and provides a talking point.

Nutritional & Sensory Health

β€’ Encouraging Decreasing Appetites: Appetite loss is a common issue among the older generation. The combination of active physical participation and the enticing aromas drifting from the oven naturally awakens the senses, stimulating an interest in food and increasing appetite levels. Reduces stress

Baking can be very calming, and the process of preparing food has been shown to reduce anxiety levels
