🌟 Carers Week 2026: Building Carer Friendly Communities
Carers Week is here! This national campaign recognises the vital role unpaid carers play in our communities. This year’s focus is on building carer-friendly communities—places where carers are recognised, understood and valued.
We’re taking this opportunity to raise awareness of the support available locally for unpaid carers.
💬 Are you a carer?
If you look after someone who couldn’t manage without your help—whether that’s a family member, partner, friend or neighbour—you are a carer. This could be due to illness, disability, mental health needs, or addiction.
Many people don’t identify as carers, but recognising this can be the first step to accessing support.
You can get help with:
Looking after your wellbeing
Taking breaks
Understanding your rights
Accessing welfare advice
Connecting with others in similar situations
