🚴 Hever Castle Triathlon and Multisport Event. Sunday 27 September 2026

Residents should be aware that the Hever Castle Triathlon and Multisport Event will take place on Sunday 27 September.

Cyclists taking part in the event will travel through parts of the parish.

There will be no road closures. However, you may experience increased numbers of cyclists on local roads.

Key information:

• Cyclists are expected to be on the roads from around 8.30am through to early afternoon.
• The event includes 20km and 45km cycle routes.
• Some competitors will complete two laps.
• The routes will be signed and marshalled at key junctions.
• All competitors must follow the Highway Code and normal rules of the road.

If you are travelling on roads along the cycle route that morning, please allow extra time, take care when passing cyclists and be aware that cyclists may be travelling in groups.

GROOMBRIDGE JUBILEE PLAYGROUND

Due to supply issues, the planned fence installation at Groombridge Jubilee Playground will not be taking place today.

As soon as we have a new installation date, we will let you know.

JUBILEE PLAYGROUND CLOSURE - 7/9/26

Please be aware that the Jubilee Playground will be closed from Monday 7 September for approximately 3 days.

The closure is needed to allow contractors to install a new fence around the playground.

For everyone’s safety, please do not enter the playground while the work is taking place. The playground will reopen as soon as the work has been safely completed.

Parking at the Parish Office

We are aware that a car parked in the spaces outside the Parish Office has recently been vandalised. The incident has been reported to the police.

If you were in the area and saw anything suspicious, or have any information that may help the police with their enquiries, please contact the Parish Office.
