🇬🇧⚓ Merchant Navy Day ⚓🇬🇧

Today, we are proud to fly the Red Ensign in Waltham in recognition of Merchant Navy Day.

The Red Ensign is a proud symbol of Britain’s maritime heritage, and today gives us an opportunity to honour the seafarers of the Merchant Navy and to give thanks for their contribution past and present.

This year, Waltham was awarded First Place in the Best Kept Village Competition, as well as being Runner-Up in both the Best Kept Cemetery and Best War Memorial categories.

All welcome to join us!
To celebrate these fantastic achievements, a free community celebration on the Village Green will be held on Saturday 5th September from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. There will be music from Back to Brass, together with free home-made cakes and refreshments.
Thank you once again for helping to make Waltham a village of which we can all be proud.
We have limited outdoor seating, so please bring a picnic chair to sit and enjoy the band. Indoor seating will be available in the library meeting room, which is accessible from the Village Green and Kirkgate Car Park.

Waltham Parish Council

It was our 4th year of supporting Waltham Parish Council’s summer events at Waltham Windmill this afternoon - and we loved it!!

A number of activities to support a community group, followed by a group game of small sided matches with different instructions to score for their team. We ended with a tournament with the older group and a match with our youngest players.

It’s one of our favourite sessions of the summer! Thank you for having us once again and look forward to planning for our fifth year! 🙈🤣
