🌈 I Am Unique! 🌈

Today, Squirrels used mirrors to spot the special features that make us us, before creating the very first of our progression self-portraits! 🪞🎨

We shared Elmer to celebrate how wonderful it is to be unique, with some colourful fine motor fun too. 🐘🌈

Kingfishers started their Ancient Greece history topic by looking at artefacts and finding out about Ancient Greek civiilsation. We looked at images of vases and how they depicted myths. We examined coins and a spinning top that was used to teach children in preparation for battle by learning that there is always a winner and a looser.

Today in PSED, Squirrels explored ‘Naming Emotions’! 🐿️💛
We chatted about how different situations might make us feel, sang some emotions songs and practised our best feelings faces! 😊😢😠. We continued our learning through play too, making faces with natural loose parts, matching colourful buttons and enjoying some emotions colouring. Lots of little feelings, lots of lovely learning! ✨

Gather your brightest mates and come hungry! We are hosting a fun-filled Quiz Night to help raise funds for next summer's Y5/6 residential where we hope to go to Wales! Obvioulsy the transport is a big cost so we want to raise some money to pay for the coach there and back!

Event Details: September 17th from 5:30pm @ Utterby Primary - Barbecue food served!

Teams: Maximum 6 people per team

Entry Fee: £5 per team

Whether you are a trivia mastermind or just in it for the barbecue, grab a team and come along for a great evening of food, competition and community support.

🍂🐿️ Me and My World! 🐿️🍂

As part of our Autumn 1 theme, Me and My World!, Squirrels have been celebrating all the wonderful things that make us unique! 💛

We’ve settled into our classroom routines, created All About Me pages, enjoyed some yoga, explored our new diggers area and got messy with finger painting! 🎨

Autumn has arrived in Squirrels too, with cosy stories and seasonal sensory play — including plenty of pumpkin spiced coffees being made for the teachers! ☕️🎃

We’ve loved seeing the children’s imaginations at work too: building a rowing boat to sail “to holiday” 🚣, throwing a surprise birthday tea party 🎂 and even rescuing a friend from the big tyre!

Lots of exploring, creating, friendship and fun… and it’s only Tuesday! 🐿️🍂✨
