Some days motherhood feels effortless.

Other days it feels like you’re making it up as you go along.

Your child isn’t looking for perfection. They aren’t noticing the washing pile, the forgotten email, or the things you didn’t get around to today.

🫶🏻 They see the cuddles.
🫶🏻 The comfort.
🫶🏻 The love.
🫶🏻 The person they run to when they need reassurance.

In their eyes, you are home. You are safety. You are their favourite person. 🥰

So if you’ve been questioning yourself lately, remember this: You are doing better than you think 🤍

Before becoming a parent, I expected sleepless nights. But nobody warned me that postpartum could feel so loud.

When you’re caring for a baby, your nervous system is often ‘on’ for long periods of time. This can leave you feeling overwhelmed, irritable or exhausted.

Postpartum overstimulation doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful or that you don’t love your baby.

It just means you’re human. Be gentle with yourself today.

🌿 Soft Sunday Reminders for the Week Ahead

As another week begins, here’s your gentle reminder that you don’t have to do everything at once.

✨ You don’t need to have the week planned perfectly.
✨ You don’t need to have all the answers.
✨ You don’t need to be productive every moment of every day.

Take things one day at a time. Celebrate the small wins.
Rest when you can and speak to yourself with the same kindness you would offer a friend.

Whatever this week brings, we hope you remember that you’re doing better than you think 🤍

Which reminder did you need to hear most today?

“Feeling touched out doesn’t always look the way people expect.”

✨ Irritation when someone touches you
✨ Wanting everyone OFF your body
✨ Feeling overwhelmed by breastfeeding or contact naps
✨ Snapping at a partner after a long day
✨ Feeling guilty for craving alone time
✨ Sensory overload from constant physical contact
✨ Emotional exhaustion at bedtime

Needing space does not make you less loving.

Some mothers describe it as:

“My skin is crawling.”
“I just need nobody to touch me.”
“I feel overstimulated all day.”

This can happen even in deeply bonded, loving relationships with your baby. Your nervous system was not designed for endless input without rest.

It’s okay to need and want space 🤍

Some days, it isn’t your child that feels overwhelming.

It’s the constant noise.
The endless demands.
The never-ending decisions.
The feeling that someone always needs something from you.

When your nervous system is overloaded, even small things can feel too much.

You might find yourself feeling irritable, tearful, anxious, disconnected, or desperate for a moment of quiet.

This doesn’t mean you’re failing.

It may be a sign that your nervous system needs support, not more pressure.

💛 Save this post for the days you need the reminder.

A little reminder if you’re feeling overwhelmed today 🫶🏻

You don’t need to tackle the whole week.
You don’t need to clear the whole to-do list.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.

Start with the next small thing.

Open the curtains.
Make a coffee.
Take a breath.
Put your feet in the garden.
Ask for help.

Little acts of kindness towards yourself matter too.

One thing at a time 🤍

A little reminder before the week begins.

You do not need to have everything organised, figured out, or under control tonight.

Whatever this week brings, meet yourself with the same kindness you would offer a friend.

You’ve made it through every difficult week so far.

You can do this one too 🌿

Parent burnout is real 🫠

If you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, irritable, or like you’re running on empty. You’re not alone!

Parenting can be rewarding, but it can also be relentless. Constantly giving to others without enough time to recharge can take its toll. Needing a break doesn’t make you a bad parent.

Be gentle with yourself today. You deserve care too 🤍
