🏳️‍🌈 Today, Cabinet Members, the Mayor of Great Yarmouth and council officers came together to raise the Pride flag in honour of Pride Month.

At Great Yarmouth Borough Council, we are proud to support our diverse community and remain committed to ensuring that our residents, workers and visitors feel safe, welcomed and valued.

Celebrated every June, Pride Month is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the diversity, achievements and contributions of LGBTQ+ communities, while promoting equality, inclusion and respect for all.

The Pride flag serves as a symbol of inclusion, visibility and solidarity, reflecting our commitment to creating a community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we kindly remind everyone that our social media channels are moderated. We welcome constructive discussion, but ask that all comments remain respectful and considerate of others.

I went to see the wonderful Revel Puck Circus at the Hippodrome last night. Another great addition to the Out there Festival in Great Yarmouth, which is looking seriously stacked this year. Much more to come over the weekend, including Katherine Gethin doing aerial hoop! So much to see and enjoy so get yourselves down to St George's Park, The Drill Hall, The Ice House and of course the Hippodrome!

Well... I missed the count at the Town hall because I was still at work! Sort of sums up my campaign really, not quite able to make it. But I'm pleased with third place and first amongst the 'non-R's. It's something to build on and, whilst I know it's a cliché to say it, the real work starts here.

Those who voted Green have helped transform us into credible opposition and that's what we will continue to be. Authentic, organic and healthy opposition. That's what being Green is all about. Thank you to everyone who voted for me and for those who supported me in other ways as well. I am grateful and would rather lose for the right reasons than win for the wrong ones 💚
