Witley Court & Gardens

Witley Court & Gardens Please note last entry 1 hour before closing time A hundred years ago, Witley Court was one of England's great country houses, hosting many extravagant parties.
(1150)

Today it is a spectacular ruin, the result of a disastrous fire in 1937. The vast and rambling remains of the palatial 19th century mansion are surrounded by magnificent landscaped gardens, which still contain huge stone fountains.

‘Hello again everyone, it’s me Wilbur. Welcome back to another Wilbur Wednesday!Recently, I was lucky enough to get to visit the wonderful Tintagel Castle! Apparently I didn’t meet the real King Arthur, but I have photo evidence that says otherwise. Have you ever visited Tintagel, what’s your favourite part?

With over 400 sites to see, where should I visit next?’

It’s our Head Gardener’s Birthday! Mark is delighted with his garden themed birthday cake and his present, 6,000 bedding plants!

These bedding plants are destined for the East Parterre as part of our summer scheme. Join us over the coming weeks as the changeover begins, and enjoy the full show from July.

It’s National Volunteer Week!

Here at Witley Court and Gardens we would like to take a moment to thank all of our volunteers for all of their hard work and positivity they bring to Witley Court!

In the last 12 months they have given over 3,800 hours of their time to helping maintain and improve our site. And to provide warm and informative visits. We could not achieve what we do without them!

From small talks to gardening and from meet and greet to conservation maintenance. Our volunteer roles are as varied as the skills and abilities that our volunteers want to share.

If volunteering is something you’d like to do, please check out our link below. And we will have the kettle on and biscuits ready for your first session with us!
