Tanhouse Community Centre Puffin Crossing Design Confirmed.

The final design for for the pedestrian crossing outside the Community Centre has been put out for statutory consultation.

A Puffin crossing (Pedestrian User-Friendly Intelligent) is a smart, sensor-controlled pedestrian crossing. Unlike older crossings, sensors monitor the crossing to adjust the lights dynamically.

This will be a major safety improvement for pedestrians who cross the busy Hamstead Road to access the Centre, Doctors Surgery and Hamstead Library and the Bus Stops.
