Chafford Gorges Nature Discovery Park - EWT Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity.

Essex Wildlife Trust's Chafford Gorges Nature Reserve is the site of former chalk quarries. 200 acres of critically important habitats in the heart of Thurrock and the Thurrock Gateway. It has more than 35,800 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres.

If you love Chafford Gorges, this is your chance to help shape its future.

Over the past few months, we've been chatting to visitors, neighbours and local groups and now we're bringing those ideas together in a pair of friendly workshops.

Come along to:
🌿 Hear what people have been saying
💬 Share your own ideas and experiences
🌟 Help shape the future of the centre from 2027

Your feedback will also help influence activities coming later this year and improvements to the site.

Over the past months, we’ve been out in the community listening to local people and organisations. Now, we’re bringing those ideas together and inviting you to help shape a shared vision for the future.

This workshop is a chance to:
- Hear what we’ve learned so far
- Share your ideas and experiences
- Help shape the future of the centre from 2027 and beyond

Your input will also help guide trial activities planned for summer and autumn 2026, as well as improvements to the building and surrounding space.

📆 Date: Friday 22 May
🕜 Time: Arrive from 1:30pm for a 2:00pm start

📆 Date: Saturday 23 May
🕜 Time: Arrive from 9:30am for a 10:00am start
Both workshops will be identical so you only need to attend one
