Step beneath the surface and uncover a hidden chapter of history at the Gravesend Cold War Bunker.

Once a secret command centre, this underground facility was designed to play a vital role during one of the most tense periods of the 20th century. Visitors will be guided through the site by experienced volunteers, exploring Civil Defence from the First World War through to the Cold War.

Discover authentic rooms, original features and the realities of how local areas prepared for potential nuclear conflict.

A focused and informative experience offering a local perspective on national Cold War planning.

Access is via 23 steep steps. Not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. No toilet facilities on site.
