Bonfire Talk πŸŽ†
Broughton Moor school have had an educational input around bonfire safety.
Bonfire night can be lots of fun, but it is important to remember that fire and fireworks can be dangerous.
Hoping both the children and staff from school have a lovely half term and a safe Halloween and Bonfire night. πŸ”₯

πŸš” More road safety action from Allerdale NPT!

Officers from Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team have been carrying out proactive vehicle checks today.

πŸš— In Silloth, a vehicle was seized after checks revealed it was being driven without insurance and had been declared SORN. The driver was reported for the offences.

🚨 During a separate vehicle stop, another driver was issued with a traffic offence ticket after checks revealed their provisional driving licence had been revoked.

⚠️ YOUR ACTIONS BEHIND THE WHEEL HAVE CONSEQUENCES!

Driving without insurance or a valid licence puts other road users at risk. Before getting behind the wheel, make sure you and your vehicle are legal, insured and roadworthy.
If you choose to ignore the law, expect enforcement action.

Allerdale NPT will continue to proactively target illegal driving and keep our communities safe.

PCSO Clare has been into Bridekirk school this afternoon to talk to the children about bonfire safety.
The children learnt how it is important to stay a safe distance away from fireworks and bonfires.
We also discussed safety rules around sparklers.
I hope you all have a safe and fun bonfire night.

Following a recent spate of fires in the Keswick area, PC Chris and PCSO Holly from the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out with Cumbria Fire and Rescue today in Keswick offering support and advice to all businesses. We have been able to give fire safety tips around securing flammable waste and making their waste storage areas less accessible or less attractive to anyone who may be involved in nuisance fires or potential arson. In the run up to Halloween and Bonfire night you can expect to see more officers out on patrol in key areas around the county targeting the misuse of fireworks, unauthorised bonfires and increase in antisocial behaviour around these areas. Whilst some people may think we are out to spoil people's fun, we are more interested in making sure everyone gets to go home safely and avoids having to attend A&E for burns injuries.

Today PCSO Holly went into St Herbert's School in Keswick to deliver a talk on Halloween safety and Bonfire Night safety to KS2. We went through varies different ways to stay safe, and the Dos and Don'ts surrounding door knocking.

PCSO Holly also went into Keswick School last week to speak about Halloween Safety, and touched on Arson, road safety and general ASB issues to the Year 7s, 8s and 9s

πŸš” Two vehicles seized in Silloth

Officers from Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have seized two vehicles that were parked on a residential street in Silloth.

Following checks, officers established that one vehicle had been declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), while the other had been untaxed for almost two years.
Both vehicles were subsequently seized and removed from the public highway.

πŸš— A reminder to vehicle owners:

Vehicles declared SORN must be kept off public roads, and vehicles kept on public roads must be taxed unless a lawful exemption applies.
Our neighbourhood officers will continue to take action against vehicle-related offences and help keep our local communities safe.
