🔥🚒Cairngorms wildfire 🚒🔥

Like all the fire stations in the area, we've been exceptionally busy over the last few weeks, responding every single day since the fire started, often for extended periods. It's been a huge team effort and we've worked alongside so many people including many other fire crews, land mangers, gamekeepers, estate workers, forestry teams, farmers, contractors and partner agencies. Without everyone's hard work, much more of our beautiful landscape would have burnt. Thanks to all of you for your tireless work 🫡

We've been supported by amazing volunteers from within our communities who've come together to ensure that we've been fed and watered. Thank you to every one of you, your kindness is really appreciated by all of us ☕🥯🧃🥪

As a retained station, these disastrous events have a huge impact on our day jobs and we couldn't do this without the support of our employers, some of which have barely seen us for weeks. Your support is invaluable and we look forward to getting back to some normality soon 🧑‍🔧🧑‍🍳

We can't finish this post without thanking our families and loved ones who make unseen sacrifices all year round while we do the job we love. From being woken by our pagers in the middle of the night and having birthday meals without us, to coming home to abandoned half cooked meals and getting last minute messages that we can't collect the kids after all... Your support means the world to us ❤️

Wildfire permitting, we're hoping to be at the Grantown Show tomorrow. Please do come and see us, it's going to be a great day out 🤩

A huge thank you to The Royal Fish Bar, Grantown on Spey for hosting one of our Firefighters Charity collection boxes, and all of the customers who've popped in some coins while picking up their supper... You've raised a whopping £174.65 which is massively appreciated by us all 🚒🚒🚒

What a fabulous day we've had cleaning cars in the sunshine alongside our friends from the RAF centre 🌞🌞🌞

Thanks to everyone who came along... We lost count of how many cars we cleaned, but we do know that you've helped us raise an amazing £1065.43 which will be split between the Firefighters Charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Senior Citizens Xmas Dinner 🎉🎉🎉
