Swapping the beret for an England cap… now that’s how you reel in a massive achievement!

A huge shoutout and congratulations from all of us at 102 Operational Sustainment Brigade to SSgt Begha from 294 Sqn, 158 Regt RLC (Grantham).

SSgt Begha was recently presented with his official England Cap ahead of competing in the Home International Fly Fishing competition.

Representing your country is a monumental honor, and it’s an incredibly proud moment for 158 Regiment RLC, the wider Brigade, and the Army Angling community. All those years of dedication and patience have officially paid off.

The entire Brigade is casting our best wishes your way. Tight lines, steady hands, and massive success to SSgt B and Team England! Bring it home. 🇬🇧🏆

🏆 UKAF Strongest Woman 2026: A Clean Sweep! 🏆

102 Operational Sustainment Brigade would like to offer a huge congratulations to 6 Regiment RLC's Cpl Paige Atwell for her incredible performance at the UK Armed Forces Strongest Man & Woman competition held at Colchester Garrison on April 29th!

Competing in the U82kg Female category, Paige showcased pure strength, speed, and resilience.

The Results: 5 Events, 5 Wins! 🥇

Paige dominated the field, taking the top spot in every single event:

Max Deadlift: Smashed a mental and physical barrier with a 150kg new Personal Best!

Max Log Press: Powering through 7 reps at 52kg in just 60 seconds.

Farmers Carry: Carried a total of 130kg for 80 meters.

Yoke Carry: Flew through the 20m course in under 9 seconds with 150kg.

Atlas Stone Run: Finished her favorite event—loading 5 stones—in under 18 seconds.

More Than Just Heavy Lifting

For Paige, this sport is about more than the trophies:

Growth: Seeing the female category grow from 3 athletes last year to 10 this year!

Community: The UKAF team feels like a family of "big brothers and sisters" across the Army, Navy, and RAF.

Impact: As a TASS athlete, Paige is a role model, proving that size and gender don't define strength. She's now inspiring younger soldiers to find their own confidence in the gym.

"I’m impressed with how much my body can handle... I want to prove you don’t have to be a certain size or gender to be able to lift weights and move quickly."

Incredible work, Paige! We can't wait to see you hit that 100kg Atlas stone goal later this year!

Investing in Our Future Leaders 🛡️🇬🇧

Leadership development is a top priority across 102 Operational Sustainment Brigade.

This week, the mission continued at Dishforth Airfield as 6 Regiment RLC hosted WO2 Kane from the NCO Academy.

Guest speakers included Officers from 1 UK Division and our own Brigade HQ who joined the session, delivering vital perspectives on behalf of the 1 Div GOC and the Bde Comd.

The day was a resounding success. Seeing the caliber of talent on display, we are more confident than ever that the future of the Brigade is in capable hands.

The leaders of tomorrow are in these photos today.

Celebrate a legacy of service and logistics! 🚛🇬🇧

Today marks a special milestone for the Royal Logistic Corps. On this day in 1993, five distinct histories merged into one powerhouse, forming the backbone of the British Army.

From delivering mail under fire to ensuring the front lines are fed and fueled, the RLC’s heritage is as deep as it is diverse.

🛡️ Five Foundations, One Corps

The RLC was forged from the union of:

Royal Engineers Postal and Courier Service

Royal Corps of Transport

Royal Army Ordnance Corps

Royal Pioneer Corps

Army Catering Corps

⚔️ A Unique Legacy

Did you know the RLC is the only combat service support corps with Battle Honours? These honors were earned by the brave soldiers of the Royal Waggon Train and their successors. We carry these names with pride:

📍 Peninsula

📍 Waterloo

📍 Lucknow

📍 Taku Forts

📍 Peking

🤝 One Team

Whether Regular or Army Reserve, the men and women of the RLC remain "Soldiers First," providing the essential support that keeps the Army moving, anywhere in the world.

Members of 102 OSB HQ recently deployed on Ex HALBERD LANDING, a battlefield study to Normandy.

Starting with a visit to the map room at Southwick Park to learn about the planning of Op OVERLORD, the study moved to Juno Beach in Normandy, where 102 Beach Sub Area was located, Pegasus Bridge, and the Mulbury Harbour at Arromanches.

The final stop was Bayeux CWGC where a memorial service was conducted and a wreath laid. Members of the HQ had the opportunity to consider logistic support and sustainment then and now, as well as to reflect on the human cost of the operation and the care of the living and the dead.

Two groups from 102 OSB HQ took on the Lake District during Exercise HALBERD FELLBOUND. Both groups arrived full of enthusiasm… and left with aching legs, upgraded hill skills, and a deep respect for anyone who claims the Lakes are “just a nice walk.”
Across the two weeks, the teams climbed Scafell Pike, Haycock, Scoat Fell and Pillar a solid combination of stunning views, questionable route choices, and the occasional “whose idea was this?” halfway up a gradient that felt personally insulting.
Navigation, leadership and hill skills were put through their paces, with our AT instructors doing an excellent job keeping everyone pointing in roughly the right direction. Map‑reading talent ranged from “future ML” to “we’re definitely in the wrong valley, aren’t we?”

All round, two cracking weeks, two brilliant groups, loads of laughs, and only a healthy amount of grumbling about steep inclines. Top effort from everyone involved.
