Superintendent Jo Fortune said: “We know that recent reports of incidents in Grantham have caused concern within the community.
“We would like to clarify that these are two unconnected incidents. In relation to the stabbing investigation, those involved are known to one another and two men have now been charged and are awaiting court dates. “As reported at the weekend, an arrest has also been made in connection with a r**e investigation – a 15-year-old white British boy from Lincolnshire was arrested. We continue our investigation in relation to this incident and would like to remind those who may be interested in this case that there is a victim at the centre of this and our main duty of care lies with her.
“We recognise that incidents of this nature can lead to speculation and heightened tensions, as we recognise that they will be of interest to the public. We appreciate that these incidents may prompt strong emotions. What isn’t helpful is the sharing of unverified information online, which can interfere with inquiries and deter investigating officers from their primary aim, which is carrying out a thorough and effective investigation to secure justice for all those affected.
“We ask everyone to respond responsibly and respectfully, and to avoid any actions that could increase fear or tension within the community. Any criminal behaviour, including violence, disorder or criminal damage, will be dealt with robustly.

Two men who were arrested in connection with an alleged stabbing in Grantham on Saturday (June 13) have now been charged.
They are 19-year-old Shady Nicholson of Prospect Place, Grantham, who has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent, and possession of a knife in a public place. He has been remanded into custody to appear in court on July 15.
Daniel Brumpton, 40, also of Prospect Place in Grantham, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place. He has been given conditional bail and will appear in court at a date to be set.

Update at 2pm on 18 June: Two men, aged 40 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. Both men are from the Grantham area.

Original post: We are appealing for information following an incident in Grantham in which two men sustained stab wounds.

We were called to an address in Manthorpe Road at 9.12pm on Saturday, 13 June following reports of an altercation between a number of people.

Enquiries remain ongoing and we are asking any motorists who were in the area of Manthorpe Road, Grantham, between 8.45pm and 9.25pm on 13 June to review any dashcam footage they may have, as it could assist with our investigation.

We would also like to reassure the public that there is believed to be no wider threat to the community and it is believed that those involved in this incident were known to each other.

We are investigating a report of a burglary in South Witham.

This was believed to have happened just before midnight on Thursday 14 May at a property on Church Lane, South Witham where cases of rare collector’s wine were reportedly stolen.

After completing house to house enquiries in the area, we are now appealing for information to help progress our investigation.

Samuel Kenny, 36, of East Avenue, Grantham, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 3 June charged with 12 offences of theft from Asda, Costcutter, B&M Bargains and Spar stores in Grantham. He pleaded guilty.

He has been issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), which prohibits him from entering any retail premises in Grantham for the next two years. The order permits him to attend Lidl on Watergate and Boots on London Road.
Kenny was also ordered to pay £787.34 in compensation for the stolen goods, to be repaid at a rate of £20 per month.

Local businesses should be able to operate without the impact of persistent theft and anti-social behaviour. This order demonstrates our commitment to supporting retailers, protecting the community and taking action where individuals repeatedly cause harm and disruption.

The CBO provides a balanced approach, protecting local businesses while giving the defendant the opportunity to address his behaviour and comply with clear court-imposed conditions. However, any breach of the order is a criminal offence and may result in arrest, further prosecution and a more severe penalty.

Anyone who witnesses a breach of the order is encouraged to report it to police.

We are investigating a report of theft from a lorry which happened on 7 May between midnight and 3am. The lorry was parked at the Moto Service area on Old Great North Road at Great Gonerby when its side was slashed, and golf equipment was stolen.

We are appealing for any information that could help our investigation. There are delays in Grantham after a lorry struck the railway bridge over Barrowby Road.

Motorists should avoid the area if possible. Network Rail have been informed.

We received a call reporting this at 2.50pm today.

We continue to receive reports of rogue traders in our area
Fraud is a very common issue that we all have to deal with and there are a range of types of fraud used by criminals. Doorstep sellers and rogue traders are working in our communities and we advise you not to engage with sellers or contractors who come to your home unannounced.
If someone approaches your home to offer work or point out work that they believe you need to have done, then we advise you to find a reputable company who can come and give you a legitimate quote to carry out that work. Rogue traders will charge you a large amount for a small amount of work – or will complete the work to a very poor standard. A genuine company should not put you under pressure to make an immediate decision.
Always research a company that is coming to work on your property.
