Flood alert issued for Grampound overnight.
Be prepared.
"Flooding is possible overnight on Tuesday 15th October and into Wednesday. An area of persistent rain with heavy and thundery bursts at times will arrive from the south from early this evening. The highest rainfall totals are expected on south facing slopes of higher ground but there is a risk of bands of more prolonged, intense rainfall anywhere in the area overnight and throughout the morning.
Following recent rainfall, catchments are wet. Rivers are expected to rise before midnight and remain high overnight into Wednesday morning, leading to flooding of low lying land and roads. Some areas may see surface water flooding. Weather conditions are expected to improve during Wednesday.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. We are monitoring river levels.
