There are many rumours going about regarding the leader of gosport council Peter Chegwyn. He has had much to say about the organisers of the Gosport Waterfront festival on line and in the Portsmouth News.
The situation as we know it to be, is that Cllr Peter Chegwyn imposed a 5k fee on the organisers stating that they were a commercial company, however, the facts are simple and indisputable, they are in fact a registered CIC, the organisers state that they feel Cllr Chegwyn used his position of Power too wipe out his competitors, in case you don’t know, he is also the organiser of the Wickham festival that also sell online tickets and the event is just a week apart.
Our inference is that the organisers of the Waterfront festival has been shafted , what makes it even more shady is that Chegwyn has appointed his friends to run all these free festivals popping up on Walpole Park, not only FOC to the organisers, so no 5k upfront fee for any of them, plus, he has given these organisers 11k of tax payers money to do it, and even Paul Cobb of Gosfest Fame is also involved, wow, would you believe that? Crazy right, well this is obviously going to come back and bite him in the butt.
But bigger than all of that, is that we are being told that two Gosport Clls are being sued for defamation and libel, we have not been able to verify this, but there is no smoke without fire.
We can’t name them until we have evidence that this is true, but seeing what has been said in the news and the response from the organisers of the Waterfront Festival, we are sure who it is, if we are right,these people are in deep trouble, because the statements made are in the public domain.
