📣🍽Squadron Dining-In Night🍽✨

Gosport Air Cadets were pleased to welcome the Mayor of Gosport to our 2026 Annual Dining-In Night at Hornet Services Sailing Club , a moment where we come together as cadets, volunteers, and families to value each other's company.

In our 85th Anniversary year, we reflected on the challenges we face and the small risks we each take every day to better ourselves and meet them with courage.

This is our first dining-in night in recent times, and we look forward to inviting our community back to dine again in 2027.

🎉🚀National Cadet Week📣👮‍♀️

Last week was the first National Cadet Week in the UK.

We celebrated the week by parading through Gosport High Street alongside our fellow uniformed cadet organisations, the Sea Cadets, Army Cadet Force and Volunteer Cadet Corps.

The Mayor of Gosport honoured the parade, taking the salute as the cadets marched past and recognising their achievements and the dedication of the adult volunteers who support them.

National Cadets Week celebrates the opportunities cadet organisations provide to young people across the UK, helping them develop confidence, leadership and lifelong skills while building friendships and a sense of belonging.

A special message for everyone who makes the Cadet Forces what they are. 🎖️

As we celebrate the first ever National Cadets Week, His Majesty The King has shared a message recognising the dedication of cadets, volunteers, families, employers and supporters across the UK.

A moment to celebrate everyone who helps young people build skills, character and confidence for life.

Recruit Intake Day Success

We recently invited new cadets to join the squadron at our recruit intake day.

During the day, they learned about the Air Cadets, received a basic introduction to drill, and earned a recognised qualification in essential first aid.

🚓🚁Visit to the National Police Air Service🚨🚁

A fantastic opportunity for our cadets to visit the National Police Air Service (NPAS) at Bournemouth and get a real behind-the-scenes look at police aviation.
During the visit, cadets explored the aircraft and got hands-on with specialist equipment used by NPAS crews on operational deployments.

They learned about the roles of the pilot and Tactical Flight Officers, and how NPAS supports police forces with searches for missing people, locating suspects, major incidents and other time-critical operations.

It was a brilliant chance to see aviation, teamwork, communication, decision-making, and flight safety in a real operational environment, while also giving cadets insight into career opportunities in aviation and the emergency services.

A hugely valuable and memorable visit for everyone involved.

👏🎉Cadet Development 🎊🎉

Our cadets recently attended Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (JNCO) and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) courses run by Hampshire and IOW Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

During the courses, staff from across the wing taught them about their roles as JNCOs and SNCOs, leadership, and how to deliver drill exercises and teach and deliver lessons to their cadet counterparts.

📣✈Aviation Success🛩🎉

Flight Sergeant Martin recently attended the 622VGS Whitsun Course. During the course, he learned how to launch, fly, and land the aircraft, as well as how to cope with in-flight emergencies.

Once he learned these skills, he was lucky enough to fly the Viking T1 solo and earned his Silver Flying Wings.
What did you do this weekend? Are you ready to join us?
