🎖️ Armed Forces Day - A Moment From Haslar's History

In the summer of 1982, the then Prince of Wales - now King Charles III - visited Royal Haslar Hospital to spend time with servicemen wounded during the Falklands Campaign.

Among those he met were survivors of HMS Coventry, the Type 42 destroyer sunk by Argentine forces on 25 May 1982, with the loss of 19 lives.

For over 250 years, Royal Haslar was the place the nation sent its sailors and marines to recover. It received the wounded from Trafalgar, from the Crimea, from two World Wars, and from the Falklands. The people who passed through these buildings gave everything.

Join Us This Saturday 6th June At The HASLAR Summer Open Day

Solent-side Royal Haslar is Opening its Doors Once Again

This Saturday Solent-side Royal Haslar will be opening its historic grounds to the whole community from 10am to 3pm this Saturday 6th June.

Show apartments at Royal Haslar, all located in Trinity House (the main quadrangle building), will be open to view on the day, with representatives from Fox & Sons and Savills on hand to answer questions about living at Royal Haslar.

Homes for all ages are available immediately, with a range of special ‘on the day only’ buyer incentives.

There will also be the opportunity for buyers interested in the Solent View apartments, launching later this year, to register their details and be amongst the first to receive news pre-launch.

Haslar Open Day also showcases a range of local businesses and organisations, offering visitors a chance to get to know the people and passions behind them.

This summer’s event features a new mini craft market, which will see a number of local artisans displaying unique hand-crafted items for sale, as well as crafts from Shore Leave

Visitors can explore the Memorial Garden, buy arts and crafts, pick up the latest best seller, join the book club, discover more about the history of this special location, view the latest show apartments, or simply drop into Coffee Quarters café or Shore Leave for a tea and cake!

🌿 Shore Leave Haslar - A Garden With a Purpose

Tucked within the grounds of Royal Haslar is one of its most quietly remarkable stories.

Shore Leave Haslar is a horticultural therapy project set in the three-acre walled Memorial Garden - providing tri-service veterans with a calm, purposeful space for growing, beekeeping, and community.

The gardens are open to the public daily and open days are held on the second Wednesday of every month, 11am–1pm and extended to 2pm in the Summer months. A hidden corner of Haslar that's well worth discovering.
