⚓️ A fantastic visit to the Royal Navy Association Club

Tonight, the Reform UK team were delighted to visit the Royal Navy Association Club on Fareham Road to meet the team, look around the facilities, and learn more about the valuable role they play within our community.

A huge thank you to everyone at the RNA for their warm welcome. It’s clear this is a fantastic community hub with a friendly atmosphere, great facilities, and excellent value.

The club is currently welcoming new members — and you don’t need to have served in the Royal Navy or have a military connection to join. Everyone is welcome!

If you’re looking for a friendly local club, please get in touch with the RNA via their page to find out more.

While many of us look forward to the England game, major sporting events can bring increased fear and risk for people experiencing domestic violence or abuse.

If it's happening to you, or you're worried about someone else, help is available. And you don’t have to wait for an emergency to get help.

Exciting news from last night's Community and Environment Board meeting!

First of all, I am deeply honored to share that last night I was elected as Vice Chair of the Community and Environment Board, working alongside Stevyn Ricketts as our new Chair. I’m incredibly excited to get to work and deliver for our community! 🤝
We started off with some great news for our local infrastructure.

🌊 Major Breakthrough for the Alverstoke Coastal Defence Scheme!
As many of you remember, April 2024 brought devastating flooding to our area. Extreme high tides forced home evacuations and left cars written off. Since 2022, the vital coastal defense scheme had been placed on hold due to a massive funding gap.
I am thrilled to share that the Environment Agency has officially awarded Gosport Borough Council an additional £7.6M in grant funding!
What this means for Alverstoke:
Long-Term Protection: This scheme will reduce flood risks for 130 homes over the next 50 years.
Next Steps: The board has recommended approval to officially restart the scheme, update the design, secure the remaining licenses, and appoint a contractor for an anticipated three-year delivery programme.

🎾 Improved access to tennis and pickleball courts – including updated usage times and the introduction of a new online booking system to make facilities more accessible and easier for residents to use.

🍂 New Food Waste Collection Launching this Autumn!
We also discussed the rollout of our new Food Waste Collection service, launching later this autumn.
Instead of sending kitchen scraps and leftovers to the landfill, this service will provide a greener, more sustainable way to recycle food waste by turning it into renewable energy. ♻️⚡
Keep an eye out: Detailed information leaflets explaining exactly how the service will work and what bins you will receive will be landing on your doorsteps later this summer.

⚠️ DRIVE SLOWLY ON PRIVETT ROAD ⚠️
Please be aware that the swans and cygnets are currently crossing Privett Road to reach the Alver River.
There is no permanent signage on the road, and the small lamppost signs aren’t really sufficient to alert drivers in time. Please drive with extra care and slow down through this area.
Please share this post to warn others and keep our local wildlife safe! 🦢❤️

🔴 UPDATE RECENT INCIDENT IN FAREHAM 🔴

Many of you may have seen the police activity or read the news regarding a very serious assault that took place on Beaumont Rise at around 10:00 PM this past Sunday, June 14th.
Hampshire Police responded swiftly to the emergency call. Two individuals have since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident:

Police have charged two people following a serious assault
Two people have been charged after a man’s throat was cut with a kitchen knife over the weekend.

Andrew Stone, 44, of Hamlet Way, Gosport, has been charged with attempted murder and Annalise Laura Cheshire, 31, of Beaumont Rise has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

This comes after police officers received a report of a disturbance at an address in Beaumont Rise, Fareham at 10pm on Sunday, June 14. During the 999 call, a 25-year-old man said his throat had been cut, prompting an emergency response.

Enquiries at the scene indicated he had been assaulted with a kitchen knife and two people were arrested in relation to the incident.

The pair have both been remanded in custody and appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court June 16

Thank you to the police for getting these dangerous criminals off our streets
