🚲 Cycle to School Week is back from 5–9 October!

Schools and families across Portsmouth and Southampton are invited to swap the school run for a bike ride. Pledging is free:

🏫 Schools get a free pack of classroom resources, assembly slides and posters, plus the chance to win four balance bikes
👨‍👩‍👧 Families can win a children's bike

On Friday we had a brilliant away day with (most of) the Pedal Power team. It was more of a social catch up before we get really stuck into the new term delivering Bikeability sessions in schools across Portsmouth and Southampton.

Join us in welcoming 4 new instructors: Holly, Pete, Jon & Beth 👏

We did talk about the new Benedict's Law arrangements and all of our team have completed anaphylaxis training. This training will enable our Instructors to recognise and respond quickly to severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.

🍰 Thank you to St Matthew & St Thomas for hosting and St Matt's on the Corner for the divine afternoon tea, it was a big hit! The cafe is open to all 8.45am – 1.30pm, Monday to Saturday.

Cycle to School Week is back! From Monday 5 to Friday 9 October 2026, schools and families across Portsmouth, Southampton and beyond are invited to swap the school run for a bike ride.

Led by Bikeability, Cycle to School Week is a national celebration of everyday cycling. Whether your child is already riding or just getting started, it's a great chance to build confidence, try something new and see how much better the school run feels on two wheels.

This year's campaign looks at what the school run really costs families. That means money, but also time, wellbeing and the air around our schools.

From Monday 5 to Friday 9 October, families and schools across Portsmouth and Southampton can join Cycle to School Week 2026. Find out how to pledge, get ready and ride with confidence.
