One of the world's 25 most endangered species, the Rondo Dwarf Galago (Galagoides rondoensis) weighs just 60gms (same as a tennis ball) & is just 13cm or so long.
This wee primate is also known as the Rondo Bushbaby, & its habitat is fragmented & limited to just about 100 square kilometers inside the East African Coastal subtropical & tropical forests of Tanzania.
These nocturnal cuties build daytime sleeping nests in the tree canopy, & often feed on a mixed diet of insects & dried fruit, following ant trails & scavenging close to the forest floor.
The Rondo Dwarf Galago's conservation status is affected by intense human pressure over their very small range, facing such threats as logging, charcoal manufacture, & agricultural expansion.
There is no conclusive population data, but numbers are decreasing, & the species is currently classified as "Endangered" on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
