Needing care and support can bring changes to routines that have been familiar for years and adjusting to that can take time.

That's why the way care is introduced matters.

At Crossroads Care Gloucestershire, we take the time to get to know each person, understand their existing routines and learn how they like things to be done. Our Care at Home team works alongside the individual, providing support in a way that feels comfortable and familiar while helping them maintain their independence as much as possible.

Congratulations, Karen! 🎉

We’re delighted to celebrate Karen, one of our fantastic Care Support Workers, who has successfully achieved her Level 2 Care Certificate Award! 👏📚

Karen has worked incredibly hard, and completing the qualification has helped her feel more confident in her knowledge, skills and ability to provide the very best support to the people we care for. 💙

But she’s not stopping there! Karen is now going on to start a Dementia Link Worker course, further developing her skills and knowledge in supporting people living with dementia. 🧠💜

We’re incredibly proud of Karen’s commitment to learning and her dedication to making a difference every day.
Our thanks to Retain Skills for supporting her throughout the award.

Well done, Karen — and good luck with your next course! 🌟👏

- It’s okay to ask for support

Carers Corner: Friday Favourites

This week, we’re celebrating the joy of gardening!

September is a great time to get planting and prepare your garden for the seasons ahead. From spring-flowering bulbs to garlic and winter salad leaves, there’s still plenty to grow.

Gardening can be a wonderful way to enjoy some fresh air, stay active and take a little time for yourself. Even if you only have a windowsill or a few pots, you can still enjoy the benefits of growing something.

Let us know in the caption what you're planting this September?

August Bank Holiday Wellbeing Checklist

The bank holiday weekend is a great opportunity to pause, take a breath and make a little time for you.

Whether it’s enjoying some fresh air, catching up with someone you love, taking time for a hobby or simply enjoying a quiet cup of tea - small moments of self-care can make a big difference.

And remember, you don’t have to do everything alone. Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Save this checklist as a reminder to look after yourself this bank holiday weekend.
