The main reason behind the formation of this Association is to continue what our fore-fathers started way back in 1918 when the Universal Negro Improvement Association was created, by Marcus Garvey. The aims and objectives were amongst others; to establish a Universal Confraternity among the race; to promote the spirit of pride and love; to redeem the fallen; to assist in civilizing (developing) t
he backward countries in Africa; to establish Colleges, Academies and schools;and to conduct a world-wide Commercial and Industrial In*******se for the good of the people (Africans)
This was in 1918 and now we are in 2015 with all this science and technology which makes it easy for us to continue. We all agree that of all races on this earth we Africans are the most backward in terms of science and technology. Very few of us own businesses here in the West or diaspora, we are still at the bottom of the ladder when it comes to business ownership and mostly in manufacturing. We are now calling for unity to change all this, we need to start getting organised and learn to work together as Africans. Check out the situation in Africa, the majority of the people still live in poverty. No electricity, no access to clean water, no descent housing and accommodation, no good roads and transportation. Guys this is 2015 and we can not accept this to continue. Love your brother man, let us unite and start working towards ownership of businesses here in the West and in Africa. We are just initiating a debate on this topic and also seeking membership from all races but chiefly from those of African origins. Let us not live in the past, were we mistrusted each other, betrayed each other, laugh at each other and scorn each other. There is a call for a new beginning, let us show that we can unite and work together, for the good of Africans here in the diaspora and most importantly for those in Africa.
