Fife Families Information Service is a free and impartial service providing information on a full range of services led by the needs of children, their families and carers. We provide news, events and information for parents, families and children throughout Fife. Social Media House Rules - www.fife.gov.uk/HouseRules

Our social media channels feature a variety of information from our services an

d partners, keeping you informed and up to date with what's happening across Fife. We're here to help in any way that we can, and we will always aim to be supportive and respectful in our posts and any comments we respond to. We want our social media channels to be safe, healthy, and open places for discussion and the exchange of views and we have the following house rules to help support that.

- All users must comply with the social media platform's terms of use as well as our own terms of use
- We answer enquiries/messages as soon as possible within working hours
- We will remove, in whole or in part, posts that we feel are inappropriate – for example bullying or harassment - or discriminatory against any individual or group
- You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content you choose to share

We will remove messages (where function allows) and report and/or block users on our social media channels who post messages at us which we believe are:

- abusive or obscene
- deceptive or misleading
- in violation of any intellectual property rights, including copyright
- in violation of any law or regulation
- spam and off-topic content (persistent negative and/or abusive posts in which the aim is to provoke a response)
- promotional material, including links to external websites and promotions

Anyone repeatedly engaging with us using content or language which falls into the above categories will be blocked and/or reported to the associated social media platform. We will not tolerate or respond to abusive messages. We must always remain politically neutral on social media which is why council officers are unable to reply to, endorse or engage with, any content that is of a party political nature. Political issues can be discussed with local councillors.

Toddlers and older children love to collect and store items that excite them. Their special collection might be a jumble of random items like old keys, a toy dinosaur, ribbons or a bouncy ball. 🧶🦖🌰🎱🎖️🧩

Show your child that you value their treasures by keeping them in a safe place and showing your excitement when they show you their treasures. 😃

Find more helpful tips to encourage your child's love of collecting in 50 Things to do Before You're Five activity #22 My Secret Treasures, on our free website and app: fife.50thingstodo.org

The children enjoyed dressing up, loose parts play, den building and sailing boats down the gutters. Decorating rocks to take home was also very popular! 🤸🎨

Catch them next Tuesday, 3:15-4:15pm at Rashleigh Court, Caskieberran, for more FREE, family fun.

🎨Children love to be able to make their mark. Provide your child with opportunities and materials to make marks. It can be as simple as pushing their fingers through yoghurt at the dinner table, or making footprints with paint.👣

Playing with sand, mud, and playdough can also be a good opportunity for your child to create lines, prints or other marks on the surface.✏🖌

Have a go at making Pavement Paint with your children. Check out the video below👇

🧑‍⚕️50 Things to do Before You're Five👮

It's Child Safety Week!

Child Safety Week is an annual campaign focused on raising awareness about child safety. Why not show your appreciation for the people who keep us safe in our communities this week with 50 Things Activity #43 People Who Help us😄

A way you can try this is encourage your child to draw a lovely picture which you can then send to your nearest police, fire station or hospital to thank the for all the work that they do to help keep us safe!🖌️🎨

This week we have another instalment of our Play Bites video series. In this episode we learn how to grow your own cress heads. Cress is a great introduction to growing for wee ones because it grows so fast and you can eat it! This links well with 50 Things to do Before You're Five activity #19 Growing, Little People, Plants and Things. 🌱😀
