Good morning and blessings from all of us at Chalice Well. The beautiful Iris flowers are extroadinary and their bronze, golden hues echo the well water. And the roses are starting to bloom!

10/05/2026

The amazing white wisteria is out in full spring flowering and it is delightful to walk slowly up the pergola path to the entrance gate.

The flowers on the path to the wellhead are so abundant and the birds are singing as the sacred waters flow.

Blessings from all of us at the Well

Beltane blessings 🌸 Thank you to everyone who joined us today at Chalice Well. From our 7am Beltane fire ceremony in the ancient Cress Field to the exuberant maypole dancing, we have all experienced a deeply loving welcome by these sacred lands, the waters and Mother Earth
that had encouraged our heartfull connections with one another to blossom and bloom.

We are especially grateful to the Avalon Tribe Drummers for being such an integral part of our morning fire ceremony, and to Glastonbury Border Morris dancers. We enjoyed beautiful songs from Rob Bray, Jenny Bliss and Marianne Forelius who also helped raise the energy for maypole dancing - so much gratitude to them. There was such harmonious weaving of the red and white maypole ribbons symbolising the sacred feminine and masculine, the red and white springs and peaceful harmony.

This is the poem that we shared, written by Alice Buckton, inspired by the fertile beauty of Beltane:

Between the dim hills
Distant azure
And flowery foreground
Of sparkling pleasure

I see the company
Of figures sainted,
For whom the picture
Of earth was painted

Those robed seers
Who made human's story
The crown of Nature,
Her cause of glory.

Beltane meditation from the Wellhead

30/04/2026

The Chalice Well Maypole is beautifully crowned for Beltane by Penny, with lilac, viburnum, ivy and hawthorn. Our Green Men elevated the maypole while Martin played the flute and Marion drummed.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Chalice Well from 6:30am on Friday 1 May. Our Beltane fire ceremony is in the Cress Field at 7am, followed by our Facebook livestream at 9am and music from Rob Bray and friends at 9:30am on the lower lawn.

After dancing from Glastonbury Border Morris, it will be time to dance around the maypole, to celebrate the joyful energies of Beltane and weave harmony together.

Entry is FREE from 6:30am until 11:30am

23 April is the birthday of Wellesley Tudor Pole (born 1884)

We know him as the founder in 1959 of the Chalice Well Trust, and as a prolific writer of books, pamphlets and daily correspondence with friends where he shared many of his mystical insights. So much of his writings are relevant for our times now of great shifts and expanding consciousness.

Always a visionary and a truly inspiring man, WTP started many positive and far reaching initiatives in his long life. At Chalice Well we have the deepest gratitude to him for founding the Chalice Well Trust to safeguard the Well and surrounding land in perpetuity to welcome people from all around the world to enjoy this living sanctuary.

His inspiration for Chalice Well was “to create conditions at this centre where Love can manifest in act and word.”

“Lift up your eyes into the Hills. Reach up to the summit of your understanding. Look out from there. Learn how to widen your awareness through the attainment of the stillness of complete silence. In that silence listen for the voice that will teach you all things. And be at peace!” Wellesley Tudor Pole
