Beltane blessings 🌸 Thank you to everyone who joined us today at Chalice Well. From our 7am Beltane fire ceremony in the ancient Cress Field to the exuberant maypole dancing, we have all experienced a deeply loving welcome by these sacred lands, the waters and Mother Earth
that had encouraged our heartfull connections with one another to blossom and bloom.
We are especially grateful to the Avalon Tribe Drummers for being such an integral part of our morning fire ceremony, and to Glastonbury Border Morris dancers. We enjoyed beautiful songs from Rob Bray, Jenny Bliss and Marianne Forelius who also helped raise the energy for maypole dancing - so much gratitude to them. There was such harmonious weaving of the red and white maypole ribbons symbolising the sacred feminine and masculine, the red and white springs and peaceful harmony.
This is the poem that we shared, written by Alice Buckton, inspired by the fertile beauty of Beltane:
Between the dim hills
Distant azure
And flowery foreground
Of sparkling pleasure
I see the company
Of figures sainted,
For whom the picture
Of earth was painted
Those robed seers
Who made human's story
The crown of Nature,
Her cause of glory.
