The Chalice Well Calendar 2027 is available now in our shop. We hope you love the beautiful images of some of your favourite places in the garden, and inspiring quotes from Wellesley Tudor Pole and Alice Buckton.

There are calendar dates for all our events and gatherings in 2027 and helpful details of moon phases and eclipses.

The September issue of the Messenger newsletter will be emailed to Companions of Chalice Well on 1 September, with updates about the garden and news from the Well.

The Messenger is in addition to the twice yearly Chalice Journal and an extra benefit for Companions of the Well because we deeply appreciate the support that Companions give to the Well.

If you’re a Companion of the Well but have not received previous editions of Messenger, please get in touch with us to make sure you’re on the email list for the Messenger.

There are so many roses sharing their beautiful scent and colours in the garden at the moment, and many hues of pink, including Yarrow in the Physic Garden and gorgeous pink Morning Glory.

For many visitors, wandering amongst these welcoming flowers offers a feeling of renewal and reset, like the beginning of a new day.

These words were written by Wellesley Tudor Pole:

“When you awake each morning, salute the time that is to fill the coming day. It is YOUR time. Call down blessings upon it and all that it is destined to contain and to fulfil.“

The gentle sound of raindrops falling onto the plants and herbs is harmonising with the flow of the sacred waters.

At Chalice Well, Britain’s most ancient continuously used well, the temperature remains at a constant 11C. So even when the days are really hot, the Well water stays at the same refreshing temperature.

“There are certain geographical spots or centres where the veil is thinner than elsewhere…that are considered suitable for becoming spiritual and healing oases…through which light can pass down into our human atmosphere more easily than is the case elsewhere. Such spots are nearly always situated near a spring, well or fresh running water. Chalice Well is one such centre and part of its heritage is to be able to act like a sounding board, ie whatever is thought or done there, it becomes magnified and can carry further”

Happy Lammas from all of us at Chalice Well.

Lammas is a beautiful and bountiful time, feeling the mellow golden sun that has ripened the crops ready to harvest. We can feel the generosity of Mother Earth and the ever present abundant Well water in these sacred Chalice Well lands.

It felt especially abundant to welcome you virtually during our livestream meditation this morning and also in person around the Vesica Pool.

Lammas is a time to give our heartfull gratitude to Mother Earth for her abundance, feeling our own connection with her and with one another weaving with love.

Our local bakery Burns the Bread, made two plaited loaves to honour Loaf Mass as Lammas used to be called. We honour the traditions of our ancestors gathering to break bread together and celebrating a successful harvest. It was a delight to offer one of the loaves to our own gathering today around the Vesica Pool.
