Parkhead Housing Association was established in July 1977 and was one of Scotland’s first community based Housing Associations. From its first acquisition in 1977 it now has a total stock exceeding 1700 units comprising of both pre 1919 sandstone tenement properties to new build energy efficiency houses and flats. PHA has a proud history of achievements in the east end of Glasgow and has a strong forward plan for the future. The Association’s stock is adjacent to the 2014 Commonwealth Games Village site and near both Parkhead Stadium, home to Celtic Football Club, and the Emirates Arena. At the centre of the area is the second most important civic realm in the city; Parkhead Cross, which is a conservation area and hosts 2 grade A listed and 2 grade B listed buildings. One of which was designed by the same firm of architects that employed Charles Rennie Macintosh, whose influence is clearly seen in the many aspects of the building. The Association's Chief Executive is Aileen McGuire and is Chaired by John Buchanan.
