💛 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our 11th birthday celebrations!
We had an amazing day full of fun, nostalgia and community spirit — and we’re thrilled to share that, thanks to your support, we raised over £330 for Beatson Cancer Charity! 🎉

From Claire Barclay Draws gorgeous portraits and an incredible birthday cake by Yonder Bakery to our birthday goody bags filled by our long-serving and fave Penny Black brands to your friendly faces and well wishes - it was everything we love about being part of Glasgow’s West End.

We’re so grateful to everyone who popped in, shopped local, donated and celebrated with us. Here’s to the next 11 years of cards, gifts and good vibes at Penny Black! 💌

Champing at the bit to find out how to get your Claire Barclay Draws Pop-Up Portrait booked in during Saturday's birthday festivities? Just come on down to our store on Great Western Road between 11am-4pm and make a purchase! Why not be the envy of humanity by getting those Christmas cards, stocking fillers, games and festive bits and bobs banked early?!

What does it cost? Zero! It's on us. We hope you might make a donation to our favourite, Beatson Cancer Charity! Donation buckets will be available for anything you can spare towards their phenomenal work.

Your portrait can include up to 4 people, including pets! Claire can work from a photo though if it's easier than bringing the pack. As well you know, we have an insatiable appetite for dog pats 🐶 in our stores so feel free to bring in doggos.

Please note there are a limited number of time slots and you may receive a time to return to sit for your portrait 🥰

Come help us celebrate our 11th birthday THIS SATURDAY (1st November) in our flagship store on Great Western Road in Glasgow's West End! It wouldn't be a birthday without cake and presents, would it? Whatsmore, 11% of our in-store takings on the day will go to the incredible, Beatson Cancer Charity. We can't wait to say a massive THANKS to you for your unwavering support so please join us in marking this BIG occasion with some frivolity, creativity and support for this special local charity!

Woohoo! We've only gone and been nominated for Best Independent Greeting Card Retailer in Scotland again at our annual industry award ceremony, The Retas.🤩
Recognising and celebrating the top greeting card retailers regionally and nationally, we're totally thrilled to be included in the nomination alongside other excellent card shops. Winning in 2015 and 2022, watch this space to see if we can do it again!

🎈 Exciting news! We've been shaking things up with our balloon arrangements and removed our need for helium by switching to air-filled latex balloons instead. Not only will this provide unique displays, but it's also earth friendly. Let's go green together! 🌿

This year's festive mantra is 'post early'! You may have seen that Royal Mail have brought many of their last posting dates forward - both international and inland - to ensure things arrive before Christmas.

We want to help get your Christmas post sent off in good time with the best service, so pop down to one of our Glasgow stores as soon as you can! We're open and processing post on Royal Mail industrial action dates also.
