Our Story
We provide legal representation in appropriate education law cases to parents or pupils. Let’s Talk ASN Scotland is a joint initiative between the Govan Law Centre and Barnardo’s Scotland. Through this we can support families in seeking the necessary educational opportunities for young people with Additional Support Needs throughout Scotland. The Scottish Government support us with funding to address other areas of education law all with a view to improving the landscape of education opportunities for the children of Scotland.
Our solicitors regularly provide representation in cases heard by: Additional Support Needs Tribunals; Sheriff Courts; and the Court of Session. Our Education Law Helpline is available to anyone who has an enquiry about any aspect of education law in Scotland. You can make an enquiry by telephone (0141 445 1955) or e-mail ([email protected]). We maintain a series of education law related websites and we also publish a number of information leaflets. We provide regular in-house training to advocacy groups, parents’ organisations, the voluntary sector, schools and other education professionals.
