Say Hello to Our Local MP once again, he needs no introduction, NO expense is to small, you name it he'll CLAIM IT! The appropriately named Mr Banks!!!
He claimed £1.35 in expenses to drive from Tullibody to Alva!!! And £0.90 from scotlandwell to wester balgeddie!! Another £0.90 for travelling from Alloa to Sauchie!! £1.35 for driving from Sauchie to Alva!! £0.90 for Alloa to Clackmannan! Unbeleivable! He Earns £66,000 a year from his job as an MP and approx £20,000 from his second job, this is totally unacceptable when we have families struggling to heat their homes and provide for their children, This man voted in Favour of the Tory Welfare Cap, maybe it's time we voted in Favour of capping his expenses by voting him out in May 2015!!! http://www.parliamentary-standards.org.uk/Results.aspx

Single person in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance = £72.40 per week, £72.40 x 52 = £3764.80 per year

Single person avg housing benefit = £70 per week, £70 x 52 = £3640 per year

Total with Jobseekers Allowance & Housing Benefit combined = £7404.80

so multiply this figure by 26 giving a total of £192,524.80 over a period of 26 YEARS!

Now let's look at Clackmannanshire's local MP pictured below, Mr Gordon FOOD- Banks expenses claims for the financial year 2013/14.

total expenses claimed = £192,397.49 (does not include office costs)

Salary from position as MP = £66,000

This MP also has a second job earning circa £1600 per month after tax for 18-20 hours work.

So as you can see our Local MP Gordon FOOD-Banks claimed in expenses what it would take the average so called benefit's scrounger 26 years to get in benefit in Just ONE YEAR!!!
Not to mention that excludes his £66,000 salary as well as the other circa £20,000 (after tax) he earns from his second job.

***FOI Request submitted regarding FRACKING***

A Freedom of information request has now been submitted to the UK Government's Energy and Climate Change Department in regards to proposed fracking in Clackmannanshire and the request is detailed below.

Dear Department of Energy and Climate Change,

I am writing to your Department in order to request information on fracking and Coal Bed Methane Exploration which may take place within Clackmannanshire. I would appreciate if you could address the following questions in your reply.

1. Have the UK Government to date granted any licences for Fracking and/or Coal Bed Methane Exploration in the Clackmannanshire area? If not are there any licences currently out to tender or being considered within the clackmannanshire area?

2.Can you confirm any proposed/ confirmed sites within Clackmannanshire where Fracking and/or Coal Bed Methane Exploration is proposed/due to take place and can you also confirm the likely commencement dates (approx if not exact) on any such projects?

3.If there is currently an ongoing bidding process/tender for licences can you confirm when this period is due to conclude and when it would be likely that successful applicants will be decided?

4.Can you confirm that the final approval for Fracking and/or Coal Bed Methane Exploration operations taking place within communities/villages etc lies with the local Authority where the operations are proposed? Can you also confirm if the UK Government has the power to overrule a local Authorities decision and if so under what legislation, circumstances and criteria is this covered?

5.Can you confirm if there has been any consultation process between the UK and Scottish Governments in relation to Fracking and or Coal Bed Methane Exploration taking place in Clackmannanshire and the rest of Scotland where Fracking operations may be proposed.

I look forward to your reply and would appreciate a reply at your earliest convenience given the importance and controversial nature of the subject as well as the profound impact such projects can have on local communities.
