Some donated items (brand new, still with tags) are resold through our shop — and every penny goes straight back into purchasing sleeping bags, blankets, essentials and care packages.

The Story…

Holidays for the Homeless has been operating for years — built from lived experience, community support and the belief that no one should feel invisible.

Now, we’re building something bigger.

Charity Starts at Home is our next step. A permanent foundation. A structure that allows us to grow, reach more people and work towards securing a dedicated space — a safe, reliable place for food, warmth and human connection.

This isn’t just seasonal giving.
It’s long-term impact.

DONATIONS NEEDED

Holidays for the Homeless is currently collecting essential items to support those facing homelessness across our communities.

Every blanket.
Every pair of socks.
Every sleeping bag.
It matters more than you think.

We also accept monetary donations to help us purchase practical items in bulk. As we are currently operating as a non-profit (not yet a registered charity), all financial donations are logged and referenced for full transparency.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with the donations in Glasgow and Edinburgh over the past couple of days. We are doing another event on the 24th of December in Glasgow. If anyone wants to help out, fire us a private message and we’ll get back to you :)

Hello everyone,

We are always in need of donations for the homeless, throughout the year and especially in the final months. We have an e-flyer that outlines the specific types of donations we are looking for and we would be happy to share it with anyone interested.

While we won't mention any names and are handling this discreetly, we want to emphasize that we cannot accept inappropriate items. We are working hard to transition from being a non-profit to becoming a charity, striving to bring joy, comfort and inclusivity to those in need during Christmas. Therefore, we kindly ask that no unacceptable items, such as used condoms, soiled underwear, unwashed socks or wet clothing, be donated.

Please ensure that all donated clothing is clean, dry and free of personal belongings before donating.

We will not tolerate inappropriate or false donations. If it happens again, we will take action; however, this time, we will handle it internally and dispose of the items accordingly.

Christmas and the winter months are a time for joy, warmth and community, a season to reflect on the past year and celebrate the life and death of a savior. It's not a time for division or mockery.

We kindly ask that if you are not able to contribute in a positive way, please refrain from getting involved.
