AFFG Director, Alistair McConnachie says:

"Nicola Sturgeon has not spoken to a separatist rally in Glasgow since 2014. This one is organised by The National newspaper which, along with the Sunday National, has a record of publishing blatant and provable lies regarding the numbers which have attended the separatist marches this year.

"We will be there to tell her that she does not speak for all of Scotland. Her MPs and MSPs do not speak for all of Scotland and have no right to presume so. This is especially so on Brexit, where they do not even speak for all their supporters.

"Glasgow is a Great British City and if she thinks she can swan in and start agitating to break up Britain, as if us unionists are going to sit quietly and accept it, then she's got another think coming.

"We will be there to tell her it's time to get Indy in the bin.

"Anyone who wants to join us need only turn up on the day."

NOTES FOR JOURNALISTS
ABOUT A Force For Good
We are Scotland's premier pro-UK campaigning group. We were founded by Alistair McConnachie on 21 March 2012, and we incorporated as a company with Directors on 27 April 2016. A Force For Good is the trading name of AFFG Productions Ltd, 533791.

Since the AUOB march in June 2017, AFFG's "Thin Red Line" of pro-UK supporters has offered a dignified counter-presence at the separatist marches, and a colourful reminder of the value of our United Kingdom.

We count the marches and we reveal the truth behind the separatist lies and exaggerations; which can be up to 18 times the true figures which we have filmed and counted.

What we Believe:
The following 4-Point Statement represents the Position upon which we stand, and from which we judge the Philosophy, Policy, Projects and Activity which we promote.

1. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland shall be maintained.
2. The United Kingdom is, and shall remain, primarily a Unitary State and One Nation.
3. Ever Closer Union between all the people and parts of the United Kingdom – including but not limited to elements; social, cultural, educational, economic, legal, territorial and political – shall be pursued.
4. The United Kingdom is a Constitutional Monarchy and Representative Parliamentary Democracy; and the House of Windsor shall continue to provide the Head of State.

THE UNION IS THE WORK OF CENTURIES!
Here's 2 powerful sets of quotes from Neil Oliver, the President of the National Trust for Scotland.

The first is from his Sunday Times article of 13 November 2016, entitled "We claim to value democracy yet treat some votes with contempt" at
www.thetimes.co.uk/article/we-claim-to-value-democracy-yet-treat-some-votes-with-contempt-wvp5nmhrq

"Here in the UK we live in a wonderland, protected by the rule of law, free from oppression - the sort of place the tattered outcasts of the Earth tell their wide-eyed children about.

"We are so spoilt we are throwing stones inside our magical dome.

"I've begun to think that for those of us born since the end of the Second World War, this unreality we have enjoyed has come to seem like something that just happened - that has always been and always will be.

"What will it take before we realise what a precious place this Britain is? When will we see it as others do - as an elegant cruise liner, afloat on a storm-tossed, shark-infested sea.

"Places like this don't just happen. This Britain is the product of millennia of strife and it’s a safer, better place to be than anywhere else on Earth."

The second is from his Sunday Times article on 1 May 2016 entitled "SNP vision of independence is same as the Union, but dead" at
www.thetimes.co.uk/article/snp-vision-of-independence-is-same-as-the-union-but-dead-shwfm3r6l

"Breaking something into pieces is infinitely easier than the act of creation. Allowing a great work to fall into disrepair for want of maintenance is easier still.

"The Union has been the work of centuries, taken on and completed by countless selfless people - statesmen, soldiers, common citizens.

"Great Britain has been here so long it can be easy to think it just happened, a work of nature like a mountain or an ancient tree. The truth is, it was ever a fragile thing.

"Union is a dream shared by a people and kept real only by their imagination and conviction. If we neglect to maintain it, the temple will fall.

"All of it will be destroyed and so the work of centuries will be undone."

Orange Ladies have big Hearts

15 children with life-shortening illnesses are looking forward to an all-expenses-paid trip to meet Santa in Lapland, thanks to the generosity of the female branch of the Orange Order.

The Ladies Orange Association of Scotland challenged its 150 female lodges to back the work of the Les Hoey DreamMaker Foundation, a Motherwell-based charity that helps seriously ill children achieve their heart’s desire. Their efforts raised £21,000, allowing the foundation to go ahead with the Lapland trip on 22nd December.

Jean Logan, who heads up the Orange Ladies, said she was “delighted and proud” at the generous response of her members. “All over Scotland there were tea parties in houses, cabaret nights in halls, sponsored walks – even a cycle trip around Cumbrae” said Jean. “We have supported many charities in the past, but the plight of these desperately ill children really touched our hearts.”

Les Hoey, chairman of the foundation that bears his name, was moved to create his charity when his own daughter, Shelley, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Her greatest wish was to meet the pop group, Boyzone. When he saw the difference meeting her idols made to Shelley, he resolved there and then to find a way to help other stricken children to realise their dreams. That was 25 years ago, since when Les has raised over ÂŁ2 million and been awarded the MBE by the Queen for his services to charity.

SIR EDWARD CARSON DIES
On this day, 22 October in 1935, a man who was hugely influential in shaping the United Kingdom that we know today, "Soldier, Statesman and Builder of Modern Ulster", Sir Edward Carson passed away.

He died in the house where he had lived since 1921, Cleve Court, a Queen Anne house near Minster in the Isle of Thanet.

He was born on 9 February 1854, at 4 Harcourt Street, in Dublin, into a wealthy Anglican family. The Carsons were of Scottish origin, Edward's grandfather having originally moved to Dublin from Dumfries in 1815.

His remarkable political career included time as Leader of the Ulster Unionist Party, Leader of the Irish Unionist Parliamentary Party, Minister without Portfolio and member of the War Cabinet, First Lord of the Admiralty, Solicitor General for Ireland, Solicitor General for England and Wales, Attorney General for England and Wales, and Leader of the Opposition.

He received a state funeral in Belfast at St Anne's Cathedral, the first and only person to have been buried there.

It took place on Saturday 26 October 1935. HMS Broke carried the coffin up Belfast Lough, with Carson's flag-draped coffin sat on the quarterdeck (See British Pathe report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f6oUOLusnw).

Soil from each of the six counties of Northern Ireland was scattered on his coffin, which had earlier been covered by the Union Flag. At his funeral the choir sang his favourite hymn, "I Vow to Thee, My Country".
