How do children this age cope in bad weather? ☔

At Baltic Street Adventure Nursery, we believe there is no such thing as bad weather. Being out in all weathers support children’s learning about the world and offers learning opportunities that might not be available indoors.

Some children, if they are not in the habit of being outdoors in all weathers, may need time to build up their resilience to new experiences. We will focus on working closely with you to ensure children have the appropriate clothing and how to dress for different weather forecasts.

We have spaces that offer shelter, nurturing and cosy environments that children who might struggle can rest, recuperate, and get cosy and we always encourage children to make their own little cosy dens too!

What are the benefits of sending your child to an outdoor nursery?

Outdoor play has been researched by many and the benefits found have been astounding. As a play organisation operating for over a decade, we have first-hand experience and knowledge of these benefits, and we want to share these benefits with as many children as possible!

Let your child's imagination thrive! ✨

At Baltic Street Adventure Nursery it's not just about mucky play - it's about playing mummies and daddies, saving the day as your favourite super hero, dressing up as princess or a dragon, playing fire fighters and doctors. Children's imagination is endless and that is their super power!

Our nursery staff want to encourage that imagination and creative thinking in as many ways as possible and by attending an outdoor setting like our own, your child has infinite possibilities to exercise their creative mind. The princess needs a castle? Let's build one. The fire fighter needs water to put out the fire? Let's get a bucket!

📣SESSION CANCELLED - 26TH MAY 2026📣

Due to the building works on site we have to cancel tomorrow's session at Cuningar Loop to allow staff to be on site.

We will be back at Cuningar Loop Wednesday - Friday this week from 3pm - 5pm.

Apologies for any inconvenience this causes and we hope to play with you all again soon!

Some of you may have noticed Baltic Street is not it's usual self at the moment! The diggers are in, the landscape is changing and building work is officially underway.

But that doesn't mean the play is cancelled! We are currently operating off-site from Cuningar Loop for our after school play sessions.

Sessions are running from 3-5pm, Tuesday to Friday. Our playworkers are out in the Loop with a trolley of games and loose parts. We are stationing ourselves at different locations around Cuningar Loop each day so if your child is coming to join us, pop us a message and we can let you know where we will be.

Our Saturday sessions are currently cancelled.

These measures are only temporary as we give the contractors time to establish the building site. Hopefully we will be back home on the playground in a few weeks!

Thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding during this time, we'll be back and better than ever in no time!

Baltic Street Adventure Nursery is now open for enrolment for 2026-27!

We are the East End's first fully outdoor nursery and we pride ourselves on building kind, independent, resilient and happy children.

Spaces are available for children aged 3 to 5 years old. Spaces can be split between Baltic Street Adventure Nursery and your child's current indoor nursery meaning your child can have as much of an outdoor education as you desire.

Glasgow City Council funded placements and blended placements with other local authorities are available.

During term time the nursery is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 3pm.

📣PLAYGROUND CLOSED ON SATURDAYS📣

Hello all! Due to building works starting on the playground we have had to make the decision to close over the next few Saturdays. We hope to have sessions back up and running semi-normally in a few weeks time!

In the meantime, we have moved our weekday sessions off-site to Cuningar Loop. We will be there Tuesday - Friday from 3pm until 5pm so please come down and say hello!

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience and kindness as the playground moves through this period of change. It will all be worth it in the end!
