"Scotland’s Anglican church has been plunged into a crisis after bishops turned against each other, raising allegations that they had acted illegally and behaved in a “duplicitous and unchristian” manner.

The Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC) is in turmoil over the future of the Right Rev Anne Dyer, the bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney, who has been accused of bullying and misconduct.

It comes as four bishops including the Most Rev Mark Strange, the primus of the SEC, issued a statement on Thursday effectively urging Dyer to resign.

However Dyer, 67, is refusing to quit and alleges her colleagues ambushed her with an “ultimatum”, stating they would go public with their concerns if she did not step down within 24 hours.

One of her closest allies has raised the prospect of her taking legal action against her detractors, suggesting that their intervention had taken them beyond their legal authority.

I'm glad that lingerie was a lot less complicated in the 1970's. I think you need a degree in Macramé to figure out how to unwrap these presents, and being a bit of a lad in a hurry, I would have just moved on to a simpler model.
